Fujitsu Adds Handheld Printer For Mobile Platforms

Fujitsu Components America Inc. has expanded its mobile thermal printer offering with a 2-inch receipt unit that is compatible with Apple iOS, as well as Android and BlackBerry operating systems.


The new FTP-628WSL210 thermal printer features both Bluetooth and USB interfaces to support connectivity with a variety of mobile computing devices for field sales, medical, retail and industrial receipt and label printing applications. The printer is powered by either a 3.7VDC lithium ion battery or a 120/240 VAC adapter such as Fujitsu LifeBook A6020 AC Adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook C1020 AC Adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook E6180 AC Adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook S7000 AC Adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook S6420 AC Adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook T4210 AC Adapter, Dell LifeBook V1020 AC Adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook E8210 AC Adapter, Dell LifeBook A1120 AC Adapter, Fujitsu Amilo V2085 AC Adapter, Fujitsu Amilo V1000 AC Adapter, Fujitsu Amilo A6660 AC Adapter. With modest 1.6A power consumption, the unit will print 6 rolls (100m) of paper on a single battery charge.


The fully programmable printer measures 84.0(W) x 136.5(L) x 30 (H) mm and weighs just 280g (9.88 oz), including battery and belt clip. It has a 40mm/sec (1.6 in/sec; 320 dot lines/sec) print speed, and uses thermal paper and continuous label stock 58mm wide and 0.060 - 0.100 mm thick. Fujitsu's Easy-Load Mechanism enables quick, drop-in paper loading. The semi-rugged unit has an operating temperature of 0 to +50 degrees C and is designed to withstand a 1.5m drop. It is also water resistant.


Available immediately, Fujitsu's FTP-628WSL210 printer is priced at $321- $339 in 100- piece quantities. Delivery is 18 weeks ARO.
