Dell has announced the launch of new Inspiron notebooks with switchable lids to strengthen its presence in the consumer segment.
These lids will be specifically designed by Dell Design Studio and will seamlessly integrate as laptop front without making the notebook bulky. Dell intends to launch 10 switchable lids considering the requirements of its Indian consumers.
It was recurring customer feedback that drove Dell to beautify its laptops and introduce switchable lids for its Inspiron line up. Moreover, the company has voiced plans to unveil visually appealing, thinner, and lighter notebooks, extending impeccable customer service levels.
The new models will support Intel’s latest Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, a 13-hour life of battery such as Dell Inspiron 1521 Battery, Dell Inspiron 1525 Battery, Dell Inspiron 1526 Battery, Dell Inspiron 1720 Battery, Dell Inspiron 1721 Battery, Dell Inspiron 1750 Battery, Dell Inspiron 2500 Battery, Dell INSPIRON 2600 Battery, Dell INSPIRON 2650 Battery, Dell Inspiron 3700 Battery, Dell Inspiron 3800 Battery, Dell Inspiron 4000 Battery, up to 8GB of memory and Intel Wireless Display for streaming video to an HDTV wirelessly.
According to research firm Gartner, there was a slump in consumer demand in the first quarter, down 7 per cent with $3 billion consumer segment revenue. Enterprise and small and midsize business (SMB) buying helped the market to achieve growth. The company’s fiscal first quarter revenue improved 1 per cent to $15 billion on the strength of its commercial enterprise business reportedly. Dell’s revenue from BRIC countries grew 18 per cent, with India up 28 per cent and China up 22 per cent.
To compete with Apple Macbook Air and Sony Vaio series, Dell launched XPS 15z laptop. The brand major claims it to be the first in a series of new thin and ultra-powerful products from Dell to come this year.
The XPS 15z laptop includes NVIDIA discrete graphics with Optimus technology that automatically switches to power-saving integrated graphics under reduced workloads, helping the battery last longer on coast-to-coast flights.
Dell has specifically designed the XPS 15z laptop for mobile professionals, students and small-business owners who are looking for easy-to-carry laptops. The company has also forayed into the tablet and smartphone segment to boost growth, most recently with the Dell Streak 7 tablet running on the aging Android 2.2.
