The latest advancement in laptop customization is here and it’s coming from Dell. Today Dell unveiled and launched their revamped Inspiron R series of laptops (14r, 15r and 17r) and among other new features added Dell has also redesigned the lids to offer you the option for switching between customized lids. Currently Dell boosts there are over 20 different lids (made by SWITCH design studio) customers like yourself can choose for your Inspiron R laptop.
Previously in 2010 Dell was only offering customized lids that were not removable like the new lids are today.
Other features added to all the laptops in the computing performance department include new processors, new discrete graphics options and improved battery life such as dell Inspiron 1520 battery,

dell Inspiron 1526 battery

The laptops all have access to the latest second generation Intel processors (Sandy Bridge) from the Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 families. With the Sandy Bridge CPU’s each laptop gets Intel HD Graphics 3000 standard but there are also options for discrete GPU’s. Namely the AMD Radeon HD 6470M 512MB, AMD Radeon HD 6630M 1GB and Nvidia GeForce GT 525M (1GB and 2GB video memory options); all cards have DirectX 11 and Shader 5.0 support.
Another thing altered was the max. battery life threshold has been improved by Dell, they now say the max. battery life possible from the Inspiron R family is 13 hours (under their own testing).
Dell is currently offering the 14-inch Inspiron 14r with a starting price of $599.99, the 15.6-inch Inspiron 15r starts at $549.99 and the 17.3-inch Inspiron 17r starts at $599.99. You can get the model of your choosing on this designated page.
