HP reveals 3D laptop

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the Compaq Laptop Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Hewlett-Packard plans to announce new laptops today, including its fastest netbook and first 3D laptop.

The Envy 17 3D comes with a 17.3-inch 3D display, speakers and a subwoofer, which combine to provide a cinema-style entertainment experience, said Cameron Duncan, an Envy product manager at HP.

The laptop will be able to play Blu-ray 3D movies and broadcast high-definition video, Duncan said. Storing high-definition content requires plenty of disk space, and the laptop will offer up to 2TB of storage capacity.

The laptop will run on quad-core Intel Core i7 processors and include a 3D package powered by Advanced Micro Devices' ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 graphics card. HP supplies 3D active shutter glasses, which wirelessly communicate with the laptop for users to view 3D content. The laptop can be switched to a 2D mode for users to view normal content.

The laptop is a desktop replacement and provides two-and-a-half hours of battery like Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, compaq 116314-001 battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery, Compaq Presario 1700 Battery, compaq Presario X1000 battery, Compaq Armada E500 Battery, Compaq EVO N100 battery, Compaq Evo N1020V battery, Compaq Evo N1000C battery, Compaq Evo N115 battery life. The company is aiming to price the laptop under US$2,000 and hopes to make the device available by "the holiday season," Duncan said.

The company also launched its first netbook with Intel's latest N550 dual-core processor, which runs at a speed of 1.5GHz.

HP until now has offered single-core netbooks, and the Mini 5103 is about 20% faster than its predecessors, an HP spokesman said. It offers between 10 and 11 hours of battery life on a six-cell battery.

The netbook is also capable of better graphics and can play back 720p video. To get full 1080p video, HP offers a separate video acceleration card as an option.

The netbook comes with a 10.1-inch display and weight starts at 2.64 pounds (1.2 kilograms). It is also available with single-core processors, like Intel's Atom N455 and N475 processors, the company said.

The company also announced the Wireless TV Connect kit, which will allow TVs to function as monitors. The kit comes with two adapters -- one for a TV, the other for a laptop -- that wirelessly communicate to display PC content on a TV.

The technology, for example, will allow full 1080p high-definition movies stored on PCs to be viewed on TVs, said Cara Baez, product manager at HP. The adapters can wirelessly communicate over a range of 7 feet or even more, though results may vary depending on the location, Baez said.

of the Compaq Laptop Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Have you calculated how much time you spend on your laptop or tablet pc every day? Where do you use laptop? Many geeks said 2012 is going to be a huge year for tablets, while personal computers will undergo a decline in demand. Is it true that laptops cannot offer more than they already have? Are tablets going to take over laptops in 2012?

The answer is No. There is no way that the Tablets PC will replace most of the laptops in the coming years. The laptop itself is still in much demand for many purpose such as document processing, video communication, graphic touching, 3D movie , online gaming and personal entertainment center etc.

Tablet PC might be light in weight and size and easy to carry around, however, such trend is also happening on most laptops such as Macbook Air, Sony, Fujistu and Thinkpad new X series. Ultra light and think Laptops are the trend for the future business travelers.

The market data analysis of laptop 2011 demonstrates that Dell is the best sold brand and Apple is the second, the rating for other brands is Sony, HP, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, Compaq. With the development of the cloud computing on the Internet, more and more people use laptop, and the age of customers in 15~45 is the main, the most are students and workers in office which take 45% of the uses.

In 2012 laptops will be ultra portable and ultra powerful. The weight of portable laptop is now heading below 3 pounds and is expected to become lighter and slimmer. Apart from becoming extremely light, these gadgets are becoming smaller by the year. If you want to be in line with the trends this year, you may want to opt for a 13 inch notebook with 3D vision and DVD build in. On the other hand, the improvement of CPU design will give the new laptops much longer working hours, some might last as long as 12 hours on a fully charged battery like Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, compaq 116314-001 battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery, Compaq Presario 1700 Battery, compaq Presario X1000 battery, Compaq Armada E500 Battery, Compaq EVO N100 battery, Compaq Evo N1020V battery, Compaq Evo N1000C battery, Compaq Evo N115 battery. So, you might be enjoying your laptop working almost full working hours for you in any specific day.

To sum up the trend for 2012 dream laptop, it will be a gadget with at least 13 inches 3D high resolution screen, nice and live surround sound system, less than 3 pound of weight, slimmer and streamline body design, faster CPU, huge RAM, solid state hard disk and long lasting battery life. TouchPad is not gone yet

Steve Jobs’s last words: The eulogy of Steve Jobs by his sister, novelist Mona Simpson, was published in the New York Times over the weekend, offering a touching look into the late Apple co-founder’s life and last days.

The speech, in a few deft strokes, sketches the outline of a man who never stopped learning or trying to move forward. Hours before he slipped into unconsciousness, however, he did leave some enigmatic final words, which Simpson wrote in all capitals letters in her speech.

“Before embarking, he’d looked at his sister Patty, then for a long time at his children, then at his life’s partner, Laurene, and then over their shoulders past them. Steve’s final words were: OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.”

HP TouchPad discontinued, but not gone: Best Buy is selling the 32GB HP TouchPad for its fire-sale price or $149, but only with the purchase of a Hewlett-Packard or Compaq laptop, desktop or all-in-one computer. In a Friday news release, the national retailer said that customers can also get the ill-fated tablet without the bundle but for its original price of $599.99. HP also announced that its online inventory for the TouchPad has been “depleted.”

Mark Budgell, a social media strategist for the company, wrote that “some retailers will have limited stock available” but that the company’s supplies have run dry.

AT&T brings LTE to D.C., Baltimore: AT&T is rolling out LTE service to the District, Baltimore, Boston and Athens, Ga., on Nov. 6, the company said in a Monday news release. It’s also pushing out its first two LTE smartphones: the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and the HTC Vivid.

Battery like Compaq Armada M700 Battery, Compaq EVO N400c Battery, Compaq EVO N410c Battery, Compaq EVO N600C Battery, Compaq EVO N610C Battery, Compaq EVO N620C Battery, Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, compaq 116314-001 battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery problems with the iPhone 4S: The iPhone 4S has been getting great reviews, but it’s also got a persistent problem: battery drain. Several users have noted that the 4S can run out of juice pretty quickly and, according to the U.K. newspaper the Guardian, Apple engineers have reached out to some 4S owners to try to identify what’s causing the problem. On Apple’s discussion boards, owners have come up with workarounds, which include wiping the phone and reinstalling all user data, disabling some alerts and notifications, turning off iCloud or Exchange updates and, courtesy of the iDownloadBlog, shutting off the auto-time zone setting on the phone.

“Uncharted 3” hits stores Tuesday. (Courtesy of Sony Computer Entertainment America) “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception” is a rockin’ good time: Playing through “Uncharted 3” is like stepping into an Indiana Jones movie, something Sony has not failed to note with its spots starring Harrison Ford.

In terms of the game itself, there are no real surprises here for fans of the franchise: Naughty Dog has stuck to its successful formula of sharp wit, lush graphics and tons of action for this latest installment.

Where the game shines, however, is in the story. It really is like playing a movie. This game focuses heavily on the relationship between Drake and his father-figure partner, Victor “Sully” Sullivan, as they race against old enemies from their past. Every visual and audio element serves that story. The graphics, which not only make you marvel at the interplay of light and shadow but also manage to fill in character histories with just a cheeky grin or well-timed wince, are superb.

“Uncharted 3” does have its flaws. As Eurogamer’s Simon Parkin points out in his much-discussed review of the game, Naughty Dog developers are so dedicated to their story that if you try to take a side path you’ll be guided — sometimes gently, sometimes fatally — back to the task at hand. There was definitely a cut scene or two when I felt like I was watching a movie — and not in a good way, yelling helplessly at Drake to please, please, reconsider his actions. Ironically, it’s not really a game for people who like to explore, which will set it in contrast to Bethesda’s upcoming sandbox-on-steroids, “Skyrim.”

But “Uncharted 3” isn’t trying to be “Skyrim” or “Gears of War” or any of its market competitors, really. It is what it is, and it does that well. At its heart, “Uncharted 3” is a wild ride driven by an engaging story, and one that’s undeniably fun to play.

Cooler Master 120W Universal Laptop

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist
of the Compaq Laptop Battery   First post by: batterystores#ca

As mobile computing has become a standard part of daily life the laptops people use on the move have tended to split into two categories. The first is ultra-portable systems which offer a light chassis with long life battery such as Compaq Armada M700 Battery, Compaq EVO N400c Battery, Compaq EVO N410c Battery, Compaq EVO N600C Battery, Compaq EVO N610C Battery, Compaq EVO N620C Battery, Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery and on the other end of the spectrum we have performance systems. Machines for those who require a significant CPU while out and about, or for enthusiasts and gamers who want as few compromises as possible when away from their home.

Generally the higher performance mobile systems have a significant power requirement and in order to satisfy this many manufacturers bundle a 100w+ PSU, often referred to as a "power brick" due to the size and weight of the unit. It doesn't have to be like that though and one company looking to offer a desirable alternative to the standard "brick" that we receive with powerful mobile systems is Cooler Master with their Universal Laptop Charger range.

Packaging and Bundle

Cooler Master packages their 120w version of the Universal Laptop Charger in a plastic container which allows us to see the device in full. Listed on the front are some compatible brands and on the back we find detailed information on the PSU as well as a helpful diagram of its possible uses. Inside we receive a plug appropriate for our country, short multi-language instruction sheet and a good quality travel pouch. (Cooler Master also provide a 2-year warranty on this device.)

The 120w Universal Laptop Charger measuring 65x21x156mm is shown above and in the first image we can see three key features. The first is the cable connector that outputs power to our laptop. The second is a pair of USB ports (1A and 2A) to charge devices such as phones, media players and tablets and the third is an LED on the top. This lights up green when powering a laptop and red when USB devices are connected.

On the base we find a product information sticker and this tells us a bit about the PSU with the main specifications being 100-240v AC compatibility, 50-60Hz input, 18-20v DC/19VDC 5.79A and 4.75-5.25Vdc/5V 2A operation. Added to this we have up to 90% efficiency and protection circuits which include over power, over temperature, over current and short circuit.

The Cooler Master 120w adapter arrives with 10 different tips which give it compatibility with a wide range of laptops from companies such as Acer, ASUS, HP, Compaq, BenQ, IBM, Lenovo, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Gateway, NEC, MSI, Sony, Dell and Samsung. To use these we simply remove them from the holder, slot onto our cable and attach that to the PSU and laptop, a very simple and quick task.

The ports on this device will of course allow us to take fewer chargers on the road with us and Cooler Master state that the USB ports on the Universal Laptop Charger will provide more power than a PC, charging devices faster but that is not the only benefit, another is size. Shown above is a comparison of our existing 120w notebook adapter as supplied with MSI's gaming laptop range. Essentially the Cooler Master model is half the size and significantly lighter too.

Idle Power Load Power Load Temperature
Cooler Master 120w 43w 135w 31°C
MSI 120w 44w 141w 38°C

To test the PSU we took a high performance gaming laptop, the MSI GX660R which features two hard drives, 8GB of memory, Radeon 5800 Series DX11 GPU and an Intel Core i5 CPU and recorded the statistics at load and idle. For load this meant running both the CPU and GPU at 100% load at the same time.

It is common for laptop manufacturers when dealing with gaming systems to really push the PSUs as they realise that 100% load on a CPU and GPU is not likely to occur often and for this reason as the results show the MSI charger peaks at 21w over its rating. Cooler Master's higher efficiency design manages to knock 6w off this, peaking at 135w proving that it too can maintain a high performance laptop. Even more impressive though is the temperature reading where the MSI hits 38°C whereas the Cooler Master unit is barely warm to the touch at 31°C.

Conclusion

With their "Universal Laptop Charger" Cooler Master give us the option of buying a unit which has several benefits over the generic model we receive with many systems. It is smaller, lighter, more efficient, cooler, more flexible and offers additional functionality in the form of USB device charging. Add to this that it uses less power to run the same laptop and we have an exceptional product which will enhance most consumers mobile experience.

Compaq Presario 1700

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist
of the Compaq Laptop Battery   First post by: batterystores#ca

Notebook PCs have traditionally been seen as the preserve of the business user: their high price has more often than not put them out of reach of consumer pockets. But Apple's success with the iBook in home and educational markets has awakened the interest of PC manufacturers in this area, and Compaq's Presario 1700 is squarely aimed at the home user.

First there's the specification - 650Mhz Celeron processor, 64Mb of RAM, 10Gb hard drive and Windows Me, 13.3in 1024 x 768 TFT screen. Then there's the styling - two-tone silver and slate exterior with a shiny Compaq badge - stylish in a friendly, unintimidating sort of way, but without a hint of frivolity. This is a home machine that you wouldn't be embarrassed to take to the office occasionally.

Then, of course, there are the buttons. The trend for additional keys to provide one-touch access to software applications has now spread to notebooks, and you'd be forgiven for assuming the 1700 of the Compaq's moniker is a reference to the quantity of these.

In fact there are only six actual buttons - three either side of the power button. Two of these control the volume, one launches Windows Media Player, one launches your email application and a further two launch your browser and connect to a specific site. The default ones are Compaq's Presario information site and notebook store, but they can be reconfigured.

The top row of the keyboard has 12 function keys and each of these also operates as an application launcher when used in conjunction with a function key on the bottom-left corner of the keypad. Four operate as cassette buttons for media player applications, four operate screen contrast and brightness (though there is no on-screen indication of settings), one is a sleep key, one toggles external monitor display settings, one is user programmable and the last is yet another Compaq web page.

The keyboard has a positive feel, though if you need to look at keys while you type, the bold white on dark grey letters might cause you eyestrain.

Below the keyboard is a very generous and comfortable wristpad area. This houses left and right mouse buttons as well as a disc pad that can be used to scroll the active window.

The Synaptics touchpad tabbed properties panel provides pretty comprehensive configuration including tap to click, corner tap functions, touch sensitivity and edge motion, which keeps the cursor moving in the required direction when you reach the edge of the touchpad. You can even control this with finger pressure, increasing pressure on the touchpad to increase pointer speed.

A 'Palm Check' function helps eliminate accidental placing of the pointer while you're typing. A slider controls its sensitivity and it actually seems to work very well, preventing accidental repositioning, yet not interfering with genuine attempts to reposition the cursor, select text blocks and so on. In any event you can easily suppress taps from the touchpad icon menu in the system tray. The Synaptics panel also lets you reconfigure the disc pad so you can use it for web navigation or to play a keystroke macro.

Connectivity options include 56K modem, 10/100Mbits/sec Ethernet, two USB ports, S-Video out, a parallel printer port and VGA socket. All of these are rear mounted and the last three are concealed behind a rubber flap. The Ethernet connection will be useful for those situations where you want to transfer work files, or for anyone running a home network.

There's no IrDA port, so you'll have to look to other methods of wireless data transfer.

On the left panel there's a Type II PC Card slot, headphone and mic socket.

Two bays on the right of the machine house the lithium-ion battery such as Compaq EVO N410c Battery, Compaq EVO N600C Battery, Compaq EVO N610C Battery, Compaq EVO N620C Battery, Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery, Compaq Presario 1700 Battery, Compaq Armada E500 Battery and a hot-swappable drive. The review model was fitted with a Panasonic CD-RW, and other options include a DVD, floppy and SuperDisk drives.

Two forward-facing JBL pro-stereo speakers provide marginally better than average notebook sound, though if entertainment is your goal you'll need to resort to headphones or even invest in the optional docking station which has an S/PDIF socket. The 650Mhz Celeron CPU and ATi Rage Mobility graphics accelerator are not, however, a combination that will set the hearts of game players racing.

Rather than shipping the machine with a specific software bundle, Compaq allocates points that you can use to buy software of your choice from a selection of productivity, reference and games titles. With the 10 points allocated to online purchasers you could, for example, put together a bundle including MGI VideoWave III, Corel Print Office 2000, Norton Utilities, Norton Mobile Essentials, Quicken 2000 and Tomb Raider III.

Compaq Presario CQ62-225nr

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of Compaq Laptop Battery   First post by: www.laptop-battery-stores.com

For an entry-level laptop, the Compaq Presario CQ62-225nr ($499.99 list), available at Staples, has a lot going on. It offers a roomy 15.6-inch display, a full-size keyboard, and a modern dual-core processor. It also boasts a design that belies its entry-level status, since HP recently updated the design of its Pavilion and Envy laptops, and that makeover extends down to the bargain Compaq line. The Compaq CQ62 is one of the cheapest laptops you'll find at Staples, particularly if you exclude outdated models on clearance. The CQ62-225nr's Athlon II P320 processor is part of AMD's recently introduced 2010 Mainstream "Vision" platform, and the laptop provides fair performance for mainstream use along with fairly lengthy battery such as Compaq Armada M700 Battery, Compaq EVO N400c Battery, Compaq EVO N410c Battery, Compaq EVO N600C Battery, Compaq EVO N610C Battery, Compaq EVO N620C Battery, Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery. Most entry-level laptops harbor a deal-breaking flaw, but we can't find one on the CQ62-225nr, just a few minor annoyances. The lack of a Webcam will disappoint many users, and you also must make do without an HDMI port and a media card reader. The keys tend to squeak a bit, too.

Design

Gone are the glossy surfaces, chrome accents, and tapered edges of the Compaq and HP laptops of yore. These design elements have been replaced with a simpler, more unified design. The chassis is made from a textured plastic, which covers the lid and keyboard deck. The plastic used here is a matte black, and the texture resembles a fine, diamond pattern. Branding is kept to a minimum: One silver "Q" adorns the lid and small silver "Compaq" logo sits below the display. Two other small elements offer additional silver colored highlights: The thin power button above the keyboard and the two display hinges. The Compaq CQ62's textured plastic chassis and flat keyboard deck, recalls the look of recent Sony VAIO laptops, like the Sony VAIO VPC-EB13FX/BI ($799 list, ).

Many 15.6-inch laptops squeeze in a dedicated number pad, which may hold some appeal to gamers and accountants, but HP doesn't outfit the Q62-225nr with one. The lack of a number pad allows for a roomy keyboard, with wide, flat keys. I did find that the keys began to squeak after an hour or two of use. I'm also not thrilled with HP's decision to add a column of shortcut keys along the left side of the keyboard. They offer one-button access to Windows Live Mail, CyberLink PowerDVD 9, your default browser, a print window, and a calculator. Although these shortcuts are handy I found myself hitting the print key instead of Shift, the calculator key instead of Alt, and caps lock instead of the "a" key.

One of my least favorite aspects of past HP and Compaq laptops were their glossy touchpads, which didn't provide the best feel, since it created drag against your mousing finger. Thus, I was happy to report the CQ62-225nr features a touchpad with a matte finish, resulting in a better navigating experience. In fact, the textured design of the keyboard deck runs uninterrupted across the touchpad. Multitouch gestures are an increasingly common touchpad feature, but they're not offered here. Below the touchpad is a single mouse button, which was stiff and in some situations where I had to drag and drop files, required more effort than should be necessary.

The CQ62-225nr weighs 5.5 pounds, which is standard for a 15.6-inch laptop. By comparison, the 15.6-inch Toshiba Satellite A665D-S6051 is slightly heavier at 5.6 pounds, while the 16-inch HP Pavilion dv6-3010us ($699.98 list, ) weighs in at a trim 5.3 pounds.

Features

The 15.6-inch, LED backlit display features a 1,366-by-768 resolution, standard for the size and making it capable of displaying 720p HD content. DVD and HD video are immersive on the large display, and its ample screen real estate makes it easy to juggle multiple windows when multitasking. Above the display sits a placeholder for a Webcam, but, sadly, one is not present on the CQ62-225nr. Given the popularity of Skype and the low cost of a Webcam, the absence of one seems like a backwards move. Audio from integrated laptop speakers rarely impresses, and the Compaq CQ62 is no exception. The laptop's Altec Lansing stereo speakers reach a respectable level at max volume, but the sound is predictably tinny.

The ports and connections on the CQ62-225nr are spartan: 3 USB 2.0 ports (two on the left and one on the right side) comprises all of the data ports. Sadly, an eSATA port and a media card reader are missing. Likewise, a VGA port is the only video-out option; no HDMI here. However, the CQ62-225nr does offer 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity.

Performance

AMD recently introduced new CPUs for its 2010 Mainstream and 2010 Ultrathin platforms, which make up the internal components of the CQ62-225nr. The 2.1GHz Athlon II P320 is part of the former platform, which supports DDR3 memory, HyperTransport 3, and Direct X 11. Aiding the CPU is 3GB of DDR3 memory and integrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics. A pedestrian but speedy 320GB, 7,200rpm hard drive rounds out the core specs for the CQ62-225nr.

Compaq CQ62-225nr's performance will suffice for most budget buyers, and its quiet operation will certainly please anyone saddled with an older laptop whose cooling fans crank up at the slightest of tasks. Throughout testing, the Compaq CQ62's cooling fans remained blissfully still and silent the vast majority of the time.

Still, the CQ62-225nr obviously can't compete with laptops that cost a few hundred dollars more and offer Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors or AMD's Phenom II processor. Its PCMark Vantage score of 3,291 trailed Core i3, i5, and Phenom II-based models by healthy margins wasn't a surprise. It trailed the Asus UL50VF-A1 ($850 street, ), which uses a consumer ultra-low-voltage (CULV) Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300, on the PCMark Vantage tests by 12 percent. The Dell iM501R-13230BK ($599.98 list, ) costs $100 more than the CQ62-225nr and offers the same Athlon II P320 processor, but it, too, enjoyed a 12-percent edge on PCMark Vantage, thanks in large part to its extra 1GB of memory.

I saw a similar spread on Cinebench R10 between the Dell iM501R-13230BK and the CQ62-225nr, with the CQ62-225nr trailing the Dell iM501R-13230BK by 14 percent on Cinebench R10. The Dell iM501R-13230BK also completed our Photoshop CS4 test in 6 less seconds, for an 11-percent advantage over the CQ62-225nr. The scores were tighter on our Windows Media Encoder test, where only 3 seconds separated their scores. The CQ62-225nr's integrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics can give you HD video playback, but will not allow for 3D gaming. You'll struggle with anything more taxing than World of Warcraft.

The Compaq CQ62 uses a 6-cell (47Whr) and ran for 3 hours 34 minutes on our MobileMark 2007 battery-drain test, putting it right in range with laptops that use mainstream Intel or AMD processors.

The Compaq Presario CQ62-225nr is not without its faults. A Webcam and a media card reader are offered on nearly every laptop sold right now, their absence on even an entry-level model is disappointing, but given the low price, these aren't deal-breakers. The slightly squeaky keys may annoy after a time as well. If you can get past those flaws, the Compaq CQ62-225nr may win you over with its affordable price, pleasing design, quiet operation, respectable performance, and decent battery life.

The Future of Tablet computing

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of Compaq Laptop Battery   First post by: www.laptops-battery-online.com

Then came in the laptops, notebooks or mobile computing which took technology a step ahead. It’s fair to say laptops have come a long way since the early 1990s, LCD displays have been replaced with sleek HD screens and the once plus-size machines are now zero sized models. If laptops have evolved so much in that space of time, where can they go from here; especially in this so-called post-PC era where tablets PCs are all set to take over computing world?

One important element of the laptop design has stayed persistent during the past 20 years, the conventional flip lid, protecting the screen and providing a sturdy base for a the keyboard it’s the back-bone of any laptop. But with the emergence of the tablet market, advances in technology and changing materials this could be about to change.

The rise of tablet PCs means laptops must adapt, while tablets and laptops are both suited to particular environments, each could learn from one another. While the clam-shell laptop is tried and tested it does have its drawbacks and limitations, in the future it is very likely that we will see new types of laptops moving away from the clam-shell design. Dual screen and sliding laptops have already made an appearance these early concepts will undoubtedly see many iterations in the coming years, which could see them grab back some of market share tablet PCs have recently taken.

Battery Power like Compaq Presario V2699XX Battery, Compaq Presario V4000 Battery, Compaq Presario V5000 Battery, Compaq Presario V5000 CTO Battery, Compaq Presario V5000T CTO Battery, Compaq Presario X1000 Battery, Compaq Presario X1001US Battery, Compaq Presario X1002US Battery, Compaq Presario X6000 Battery, Compaq Presario1516US Battery, Compaq Prosignia 170 Battery, Compaq Prosignia 190 Battery, the Achilles heel of laptops, we’ve all been there desperately trying to complete a task before the life in your laptop drains away. Wouldn’t it be amazing if laptops could hold their charge for days on end, unfortunately that’s not going to happen anytime soon. However smarter technologies such as inductive charging could soon put AC adaptors into retirement. For this to happen charging pads will need to be widely adopted, just imagine sitting on the train using your laptop while it charges via the surface you’re using.

The term Tablet PC typically refers to the product released by Microsoft in 2001. The “Windows XP Tablet PC Edition” of the Microsoft operating system was the first natively pen enabled version of Windows. Windows Vista added pen support to the entire line of operating systems, not typing it down to a special version. Windows 7 went further building in support for touch and multi touch into the operating system.

Evolution of Technology

Going a little back in time on January 27, 2010, Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ introduced a thin, always-on tablet device that would let people browse the Web, read books, send email, watch movies, and play games. It was also no surprise that the 1.5-pound iPad resembled an iPhone, right down to the single black button nestled below the bright 10-inch screen. But there was more to it that what met the eye. In addition to the lean-back sorts of activities one expects from a tablet, there was a surprising pitch for the iPad as a lean-forward device, one that runs a revamped version of Apple’s iWork productivity apps. In many ways, Jobs claimed, the iPad would be better than pricier laptops and desktops as a tool for high-end word processing and spreadsheets. If anyone missed the point, Apple’s design guru Jonathan gushed in a promotional video that the iPad wasn’t just a cool new way to gobble up media – it was blazing a path to the future of computing.

Even though the iPad looks like an iPhone built for the supersize inhabitants of Pandora, its ambitions are as much about shrinking our laptops as about stretching our smartphones. Yes, the iPad is designed for reading, gaming, and media consumption. But it also represents an ambitious rethinking of how we use computers. No more files and folders, physical keyboards and mouses. Instead, the iPad offers a streamlined yet powerful intuitive experience that’s psychically in tune with our mobile, attention-challenged, super-connected new century. Instant-on power. Lightning-fast multitouch response. Native applications downloaded from a single source that simplifies purchases, organizes updates, and ensures security.

Apple has even developed a custom chip, the A4, that both powers the machine and helps extend its battery life to 10 hours. But don’t call it a netbook, a category Steve Jobs went out of his way to trash as a crummy compromise. The iPad is the first embodiment of an entirely new category, one that Jobs hopes will write the obituary for the computing paradigm that Apple itself helped develop. If Jobs has his way, before long we may be using our laptops primarily as base stations for syncing our iPads.

The fact is, the way we use computers is outmoded. The graphical user interface that’s still part of our daily existence was forged in the 1960s and ’70s, even before IBM got into the PC business. Most of the software we use today has its origins in the pre-Internet era, when storage was at a premium, machines ran thousands of times slower, and applications were sold in shrink-wrapped boxes for hundreds of dollars. With the iPad, Apple is making its play to become the center of a post-PC era. But to succeed, it will have to beat out the other familiar powerhouses that are working to define and dominate the future.

There’s a lot to love about Apple’s vision. As we start to establish the conventions made possible by advanced multitouch, we’ll perform ever more complicated tasks by rolling, tapping, and drumming our fingers on screens, like pianists tickling the ivories. The iTunes App Store model gives us a safe and easy means to get powerful programs at low prices. Rigidly enforced standards of aesthetics will ensure that the iPad remains an easy-to-navigate no-clutter zone. And since we’re obligated to link our credit cards to Apple, micropayments are built in, providing traditional media companies with at least a hope of avoiding the poorhouse.

HP Compaq Mini 700

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the Compaq Laptop Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

The elongated shape of HP’s Compaq Mini 700 reminds us of Sony’s Vaio P series; thankfully this one carries a seriously lighter price tag!

Handling and Design

No doubt here, HP definitely delivers a product with a good design and strong build. The keyboard is large and typing is comfortable, unlike 7 or 9 inch netbooks. There is a convenient button between the touchpad and keyboard that disables the pad when an external mouse is being used. The touchpad is elongated, and the click buttons are on the sides in order to gain some depth. Unfortunately, the matte surface of the touchpad makes it difficult for the finger to slide. The pad is 3.5 cm long, smaller than that of the 1002HA.

Be careful when charging the computer: the plug can be very loose.

The noise bothered us a bit. When heavily used, the internal fan kicks in. Not horribly loud but enough to be disturbing.

The webcam is disappointing. Indoors, the picture is very dark and its hard to make out the person’s features. In order to make it better all you can do is go brighter, but even then the result is not very satisfying. The Mini 700 has a microphone, but we never managed to make it work.

On the sides of the PC, there are 2 USB ports, an Ethernet jack, 2-in-1 card reader for SD/MMC support, a combination jack for audio/mic and an expansion port. HP is selling an adapter to hook the laptop up to an external monitor (VGA only) as an optional accessory.

The speaker (a long metal bar) is beneath the keyboard. The sound is rather weak, good enough to watch a movie on your own, sitting in front of the screen. As always, headphones are recommended.

The only element you can access, again beneath the keyboard, apart from the battery such as Compaq Armada M700 Battery, Compaq EVO N400c Battery, Compaq EVO N410c Battery, Compaq EVO N600C Battery, Compaq EVO N610C Battery, Compaq EVO N620C Battery, Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, compaq 116314-001 battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, is the memory slot.

Processor Power

There are few components inside of a mini-PC. The most common equation for a 10 inch is an Intel Atom N270, an Intel GMA 950 for video and a hard drive. Such is the case with the Mini 700.

A netbook can stand apart only by its RAM and/or the hard drive The latter is not very satisfying here - only 60 GB (some netbooks go up to 160 GB). The hard drive manages read speeds of up 30 MB/s, (in comparison others can reach 70 MB/s) and boot time is 1 minute 5 seconds, which is relatively slow compared to some netbooks booting in 30 seconds. The processor can do everything a traditional laptop can do, it will just take two or three times longer than a mid/high-end laptop.

With video, SD and DVD quality is watchable, but make sure to avoid HD.

Battery Life & Portability

At only 2.25 pounds, the mini 700 is the lightest 10 inch PC we have tested. In terms of battery life, it falls short, lasting just 2 hours and 13 minutes, while the EeePC 901 can go on for 5 hours.

Compaq Presario V2000

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the Hp laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

If you're considering a wide-screen laptop for travel, the Compaq Presario V2000 belongs at the top of your list. At just 6.1 pounds (not including the AC adapter), this compact unit is easier to carry than many competing wide-screen notebooks. Its 14.1-inch BrightView screen, an inch shorter than a standard 14.1-inch screen, should clear an airline seat back much more easily.

Be sure to shell out the extra $25 for the V2000's optional 12-cell battery like compaq Presario M2000 battery(compaq m2000 battery), Hp 367759-001 battery, Compaq Presario V2000 battery(compaq v2000 battery), Hp pavillion zx5000 battery(Hp zx5000 battery), Hp PP2200 battery, Hp Pavilion dv2000 battery(Hp dv2000 battery). It lasted 5.8 hours in our tests--long enough to see you through a coast-to-coast flight, a short layover, and maybe even the taxi ride to the hotel. (We didn't test the standard 6-cell battery.)

The V2000's bright WXGA screen is top-of-the-line. With a native resolution of 1280 by 768 pixels, it displays icons that are big enough to read easily while giving you an extra inch of width (it's as wide as a standard 15-inch screen). You'll still have to do some adjusting and scrolling in order to view two detailed windows side-by-side, but you'll see considerably more of your spreadsheets or graphics applications and their palettes on this relatively small laptop.

The keyboard is perfect, with responsive keys that depress just the right amount and hardly make a sound. The underpinnings feel firm, and the layout is roomy. A lock button for the touchpad prevents the cursor from wandering as you type, and the tall rear battery forms a foot that provides a nice slant to the keyboard. The rest of the laptop is just as impressive, with a DVD burner (in our review configuration), a FireWire port, and three USB 2.0 spread out along the right side, along with a six-in-one card reader to take care of all your data exchange needs with PDAs, cameras, and other devices. The front-mounted speakers sound surprisingly loud and realistic, with volume buttons positioned at the top of the keyboard.

Plenty of sensibly located icons ensure that you won't get lost navigating the V2000's features. Icons conveniently situated around the keyboard (and in easy view on top of the case) mark side connections. Protected by grooved black panels held in by a couple of screws, the memory and hard drive compartments on the bottom of the laptop are clearly identified, too. Status lights appear on the front, where they're easy to monitor; the Wi-Fi LED glows the same pleasing blue as the Wi-Fi switch at the top of the keyboard.

When you're not on the road, the V2000 makes an excellent desktop replacement when united with HP's optional Xb2000 expansion base. The base, which serves as a port replicator and notebook stand, comes with built-in, subwoofer-enhanced Harman/Kardon speakers that rock even harder than the notebook's built-in speakers. The base also houses an internal bay that can accommodate a big (160GB) second hard drive, giving you a total of 260GB of storage if you opt for a 100GB primary hard drive. The $299 Xb2000 base includes a wireless mouse and keyboard, too.

When equipped with a 1.8-GHz Pentium M 745 processor, the V2000 zips along at a creditable clip; it earned a WorldBench 5 score of 75 in our tests--a statistically insignificant 2 points behind the mark posted by a similarly configured IBM ThinkPad T42.

Wise Energy Use Stocks

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the Hp laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

This is a continuation of a series looking into the financial stability of companies in Energy Tech Stocks' "Wise Energy Use" index, described in part 1. The first article in the series looks at three efficient lighting companies, while this one looks at four electric vehicle stocks and a private company, as described here.

Electric Vehicles... Good, but not Disruptive

I personally don't consider investing in any car companies, even relatively fuel efficient ones. Either or both lean economic times and high oil prices are likely to lead to lower use of cars over the next few years, and this will likely weigh on car companies. I'm more enthusiastic about relatively economical forms of transport, such as bikes, scooters, light rail, and buses. Electrification is likely the future of ground transport, but which will come first, the electric car, or the electric bus?

New car sales typically rely on financing and consumer demand, something which could weigh heavily on all automobile manufactures, even for efficient vehicles. But I didn't create the index, I'm just screening it for companies I think will stay strong in a prolonged downturn.

I agree with Neal's post yesterday where he says, "In energy, there is no disruptive technology, only disruptive policy that makes some technologies look disruptive after the fact." Neal makes an excellent case that Silicon Valley ingenuity will not overcome the energy industry. The disruption, when it comes, will not be a better car, like a plug-in hybrid - it will come in the form of people abandoning the personal car for something better.

Today, I was at the Colorado New Energy Economy Conference, and I saw Neal's "disruptive policy" coming in the form of Denver's new Strategic Transportation Plan. According to Bill Vidal, of Denver Public Works, Denver transportation planning has taken a new focus. No longer will Denver transportation be car-centric. It will instead focus on moving people, goods, and info, becoming more multi-modal. A move to multi-modal transport will not be good for car companies. While Denver may be on the forefront of progressive transportation, they are not the only ones, and a slowing economy is as much a driver of multi-modal transportation options as is a rising oil price.

So while I don't like any of the car companies in the Wise Energy Use Index, there is a bus company I like.

Nissan (NSANY): Financial data from 1Q 2008. First quarter operating income was a positive 80 Billion yen, and they have a current ratio of about 1:3. This is not bad, but I'd spend a lot more time scrutinizing the company's financing needs over the next few years before I would invest. Nissan may be looking into electric vehicles, but if few people are buying any vehicles, how much will that help the company?

Mitsubishi Motors (MMTOF.PK): Financial data from 1Q 2008. Although Mitsubishi had positive operating income of about 10 billion yen in the first quarter, current liabilities exceeded current assets, with a current ratio of 0.87. This might not be a reason to worry in ordinary times, but we are not living in ordinary times.

Toyota Motor (TM): Toyota's current ratio is almost exactly one, but they did have operating cash flow of $30 Billion in the first quarter. Like Nissan, Toyota may be able to survive without tapping the financial markets for a while, but I'm still uncomfortable owning any auto firm, even a progressive one such as Toyota. Also like Nissan, I'd take a hard look at the next few years' financing needs before I decided to invest, if I were so inclined.

Ener1 (HEV): Battery like Hp F4098A battery, Hp F4809A battery, Hp F4812A battery, compaq 319411-001 battery, Compaq Presario 2100 battery(compaq 2100 battery), Compaq Presario 2500 battery(compaq 2500 battery), Compaq Presario NX9010 battery, Compaq Presario NX9000 battery, Fuel Cell, and Nanotech company Ener1 is not one I've considered before, partly because the ticker and company description make me think that they're slick marketers, while I'm more interested in boring companies that don't know how to get investors interested in their story. Nevertheless, the company's technology is not totally tied to cars, and they have a fairly solid balance sheet with a current ratio of 7:7. Its current assets less current liabilities are slightly larger than its twelve month operating cash loss, and they have no debt. Ener1 should be able to survive for about a year without going to the capital markets again for new financing, so if you're betting on a quick resolution of the financial crisis, this is a company you might consider for your wise energy use portfolio. I will not be making that bet.

A123: This widely acclaimed lithium-ion battery company is private, and so not available to stock market investors, nor dues it publish financial statements. They are planning an IPO, but until the prospectus is available, I won't be able to say anything about the financials. Unless markets improve, I don't expect the IPO to take place.

Settings Laptop's Power in Windows

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the Hp laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Did you ever get into this situation: you closed the laptop's lid and it's getting into sleep mode. Upon returning, you opened the lid, only to be faced with a blank screen and no response from the mouse or keyboard. For the best setting, you can prolong the life of your wholesale laptop battery, HP Laptop Battery or no matter what brand it is,

It's easy to change the power button's function, which can be programmed to make the laptop sleep, shut down, or hibernate mode. The default lid-closing action for most laptops is to put the system in "sleep" mode. However, for Windows users, it's much more reliable to use "hibernate" mode instead when the laptop comes to waking up. The laptop in sleep or standby mode continues to consume the battery power such as Hp F4098A battery, Hp F4809A battery, Hp F4812A battery, compaq 319411-001 battery, Compaq Presario 2100 battery(compaq 2100 battery), Compaq Presario 2500 battery(compaq 2500 battery), Compaq Presario NX9010 battery, Compaq Presario NX9000 battery, so it is common to return to a "sleeping" laptop to find that it's just plain dead.

Hibernate, on the other hand, saves your machine's current state to a temporary hard-drive file, then shuts down completely (much like "off"). When you start it up again, it loads that file and returns you to where you left off--no booting required. You may also avoid any of the issues that can arise when Windows suddenly loses power. Find the following tips and know about how to set the power function and prolong your duration time.

  • Click Start, type power, and then click Power Options.
  • In the lefthand sidebar, click Choose what the power buttons do.
  • You should see two pull-down menus alongside when pressing the power button. One is for when the laptop's running on Dell JKVC5 battery power, the other for when it's plugged in ac adapter or laptop charger. Choose the setting "hibernate" for each scenariorunning on battery power.
  • Click Save changes and you're done.

As you may have noticed, this screen also lets you change the functions for the sleep button (if your laptop has one) and for what happens when you close the laptop's lid. So you can kill a couple button-birds with this particular settings stone.

    Different Kinds of Laptop Batteries

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist

Laptops are powered by batteries; and there are many kinds of batteries available in the market like the following:

Lithium Ion (LiON) - this is the most popular laptop battery type that most users prefer. This is lightweight and has been proven to work better than other kinds of batteries such as Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, compaq 116314-001 battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery, Compaq Presario 1700 Battery, compaq Presario X1000 battery, Compaq Armada E500 Battery, Compaq EVO N100 battery, Compaq Evo N1020V battery, Compaq Evo N1000C battery, Compaq Evo N115 battery. It does not have the memory effect that causes other kinds of batteries like the Nickel-cadmium to lose their full recharging ability. The memory effect occurs when the battery was repeatedly discharged the recharged even before being fully drained. The LiOn has a rapid-charging ability which is good when you are in a hurry and do not have the time get your battery fully charged. This option was made possible because of the improvement made in the LiON over NiMH batteries in the memory effect. Another advantage of battery is that it is the most environment friendly than the rest. The disadvantage; it is more expensive.

Nickel Cadium (NiCaD) - this is the first laptop battery chemistry that was developed. This rechargeable notebook battery features high output current capability and low cost flexibility. This kind of battery has rapid recharging ability and can be used in a wide range of products. The sad fact though about this chemistry is that it hasn't been considered useful nowadays because it suffered from the dreaded memory effect. Frequent rapid recharging causes this battery to have a shorter life.

Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) - this kind of battery came next to the NiCad in development. When it come to a few features, this chemistry is better than the NiCad due to significant improvements done in safety, dependability and the over all capacity. Though it is considered longer lasting than the previous chemistry, this too has suffered from the dreaded memory effect. To prevent this battery to lose its life as easily as the NiCad, it has to be fully discharged before recharging. This way you can get the maximum effect and a prolonged life for your NiMH battery. This battery is also more environment friendly than the NiCaD because they do not have heavy metals in their components.

Smart or Dumb Batteries - some batteries are either called smart or dumb. Smart batteries feature internal microprocessor with smart chips that manage the battery performance and the output voltage. It reports the charging condition and calculates how much running time is left prior to the next recharging need. Dumb batteries on the other hand are the counterpart of smart batteries but they are considered to have shorter lives.

Want to Massively Increase Your Laptop Battery Life

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist

If you want to increase the amount of charge that you get out of your laptop battery and also increase the time before you will have to buy a replacement laptop battery, then you have found what you are looking for. This article will show you a few little tips and tricks that you can implement on a daily basis to greatly increase your laptop battery life. A lot of people that I know do not have any idea about how to treat the batteries in their laptops resulting in them having to replace them every six months! This can be avoided. Read on to find out more.

Depending on the type of battery that is in your laptop, you will have to do different things. There are currently four main types that are in use today with one type being phased out and another type being phased in. The four main types are lithium ion batteries (or Li-Ion batteries) such as Compaq Presario 1200 Battery, Compaq Presario 1800 Battery, Compaq Presario 700 Battery, Compaq Presario 900 Battery, Compaq Presario 1700 Battery, Compaq Armada E500 Battery, Compaq EVO N100 battery, Compaq Evo N1020V battery, Compaq Evo N1000C battery, Compaq Evo N115 battery, nickel metal hydride batteries (or NiMH batteries), nickel cadmium batteries (or NiCd and sometimes NiCad) and lithium polymer batteries (or Li-po batteries). The oldest type in current use is the nickel cadmium kind and the new type that is currently gaining popularity is the lithium polymer battery.

Nickel metal hydride and nickel cadmium batteries are both susceptible to a thing called battery memory degradation. This is where, over time, the battery cannot hold as much as it used leading to hugely reduced running times of your laptop. To stop the severity of this effect there are a few little things that you can do such as not recharging the battery until it is totally empty, and making sure that you leave as much room as possible between each recharge. Also, you should ensure that each time you perform a recharge, you charge the battery to its full capacity.

If your computer has a lithium ion battery or a lithium polymer battery there are a few different steps that you need to take to ensure that you keep your laptop batteries maximised. You need to ensure that you do not run these types of batteries totally dry. This can lead to damage to the internal chemical makeup and cause irreversible damage. Most new laptops come with power management programs so you do not have to worry about this as they will shut down if the charge in the laptop battery gets down to below 10 percent. Also try to take the battery out of the laptop if you have it plugged into an AC power supply for most of the time. Before you do this, ensure that the battery is fully charged and remember to put the battery back in the laptop before you remove the power supply or your computer will instantly turn off.

Following the above simple steps is not a hard thing to do. It will save you a lot of time, effort and money. New laptop batteries can be quite expensive so performing a few little tasks each time you use your laptop is a small price to pay for the rewards that you will receive in the future.
