Digital Cameras Rechargeables Battery biz

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Canon Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Powering digital cameras and other high drain consumer electronics devices, while at the same time ratcheting up the rechargeables that help keep CE hardware on the road, is the one-two punch driving the battery business. A trend toward larger size packages rounds out key initiatives.

Whether alkaline or lithium ion (Li-Ion) types for CE products or nickel metal hydride (NiMH) for rechargeables, batteries are fast becoming one of the most tech influenced accessories categories.

"Batteries such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery, nikon CR-V3 battery, nikon EN-EL2 battery, Olympus FE-250 battery, Fujifilm NP-40 battery, Samsung VP-MS12 battery, Sharp VR-BL1 battery will continue to follow the growth of technology and the consumer's desire for portability and convenience," said Lou Martire, vice president-trade development at Energizer. "As the demand for power-hungry digital cameras continues to grow, and with the introduction of new toys and devices, so will the demand for batteries [climb]," he said.

This summer, St. Louis-based Energizer will begin significant media support for its Energizer e2 AA 1.5-volt lithium photo battery. Said to be one of a kind, the battery delivers five times the power of an ordinary alkaline battery in digital cameras, according to Energizer. Suggested retail for AA or AAA e2 4-packs is $4.99.

With product performance of its Energizer Max alkaline AA and AAA batteries recently improved, Energizer said these will run up to 40 percent longer than ordinary alkaline batteries in AA and AAA sizes in high drain devices. These two cell sizes make up almost 80 percent of all batteries sold and are used in many of the newest portable devices, said Energizer. Suggested retail for Max AA and AAA 4-packs is $3.99.

In addition, Energizer has begun shipping an improved AA NiMH 1700 mAh product, up from 1600 mAh.

"The popularity of nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries continues to be driven by wider acceptance of high drain devices such as PDAs and, especially, digital cameras," said Peter Brinkman, vice president for marketing at Maxell. "As we expected, this trend has accelerated in recent months because of the increase in household penetration of digital cameras and because consumers are familiar and comfortable with using rechargeable batteries," said Brinkman.

To help support the growth in rechargeables, Fair Lawn, N.J.-based Maxell is offering consumers packaging that effectively communicates battery chemistry, emphasizes recommended usage and communicates higher capacity availability.

Maxell's newest battery product is its P2001 Recharger/Battery Combination Pack at $24.99 suggested retail. The item includes a smart recharger and four AA NiMH batteries. It automatically detects the amount of charge required for each battery placed in the unit and charges accordingly. It is capable of recharging both nickel cadmium (NiCd) and NiMH batteries, and automatically recognizes either chemistry.

A second key trend shaping the battery business is the "importance of value to sales growth in the alkaline battery category, as represented by larger pack sizes," said Maxell's Brinkman. "Sales growth of the larger pack sizes is being generated by an increase in battery usage overall caused by the popularity and widespread use of battery-driven devices.

Time date batteries in Cameras

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Sony Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

On another site - a punter was complaining that the Time/date function had ceased to work

I and others were advising him to - look at manual/contact maker etc.,etc. and getting nowhere fast.

Much later I was dismantling a dead camera - more out of curiosity than anything else and noticed right in the centre of the main board - a tiny button battery like sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery, sony NP-FM50 battery, sony NP-FM51 battery, sony NP-F10 battery, sony NP-FE1 battery, sony DSC-T7 battery
Panasonic CGA-S101A Battery, Olympus Li-10B Battery, Olympus BLM1 Battery, panasonic NV-GS10 battery, panasonic VHS-C Battery, canon EOS 400D Battery

-This I imagined was the cause of the above complaint- the battery had 'timed out'

Now- As far as I can see- replacing the battery is not for the average user, even if they were aware.

And sending it back to the maker is seems an expensive exercise - to the extent of being near replacement camera cost.

So the user will have to live without time and date, is seemingly the only option.

I personally don't bother with that setting so it is not one I worry about

But it did seem to me that these items costing several hundred pounds have a deliberately built in obsolescence

What you all think

I recently replaced a central heating programmer.

The old one had a replaceable large button cell used to retain timing imformation in the event of a power failure.

The new programmer still employs a battery, but soldered direct to the circuit board and not user replaceable.

The old programmer lasted over 20 years with a few changes of the button cell. I reckon I'll be lucky to get more than 5 years from the new one before the entire programmer needs replacing again. (not quite the case because I will solder a new battery in when the time comes)

The manufacturer has saved pennies in production costs, but to the detriment of the consumer in the long term.

Is this facility dying out. Previous cameras I have owned have had a small battery that remembers all time/date details etc. But of the the four that I now have three do not. If the batteries are removed all data is lost after a short period of time. Only my D200 has a (rechargeable) battery which is not user changeable. However this is kept charged by the main battery. So remove this, the other battery loses its charge, and the data goes.

As we are always advised to remove batteries if we are not going to use something for a while this can prove to be a nuisance.

Panasonic Announces Newest Compact System Camera

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Canon Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Panasonic today announces its latest Compact System Camera (CSC), the LUMIX DMC-GX1, which joins Panasonic’s award-winning LUMIX G Series of digital cameras, which are acclaimed for their high image quality with small and compact body and lenses. The new LUMIX GX1 features a 16.01-megapixel Live MOS sensor and Venus Engine, helping to ensure real-to-life images through excellent resolution, image rendering and color reproduction. Even in low-light situations and at maximum 12800 high ISO sensitivity, the LUMIX GX1 can produce stunning photos and videos, and because of its compact size it can be easily carried for daily use.

“Panasonic expects the LUMIX GX1 to please a lot of photo enthusiasts who have been eager for a technology upgrade comparable to the LUMIX DMC-GF1, which continues to be a very popular digital camera with dedicated followers who appreciate the compact size, yet high quality of photos and video,” said Darin Pepple, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. “The LUMIX GX1 is an extremely flexible and capable digital camera with fast AF speeds and outstanding image quality. Plus with a built-in flash and a hot shoe allowing for accessories like an external view finder, the GX1 is a powerful compact system camera that is small enough to be a photographer’s everyday camera choice.”

The LUMIX GX1, like all the models in Panasonic’s LUMIX G Series of CSC, adopts Contrast AF for its focus system, so focusing is controlled by the image sensor. When compared with the Phase difference system AF, Contrast AF achieves higher accuracy especially when shooting with a bright lens with small F value. For instance, the accuracy of Contrast AF is approximately 90% while Phase difference AF is approximately 60% at F1.4. Additionally, with the precise Contrast AF system, the LUMIX GX1 achieves high resolution through an optimal balance of resolution and noise reduction, thus producing lifelike image rendering and highly precise Auto Exposure and white balance. To further advance the Contrast AF, the LUMIX GX1?incorporates full-area focusing, making it possible to set focus on any point in the field of view. With the LUMIX GX1′s 3.0-inch touch LCD screen, frame composition is intuitive and easy.

The LUMIX GX1 features an ultra high-speed Light Speed AF*, which means it can Auto Focus in approximately 0.09 second. This is achieved by reducing the detection time for focusing by the synchronizing the lens and sensor at 120 fps. Plus, the newly-added focus mode AFF (AF Flexible) locks on the focus when the shutter button is half-pressed, however, if the subject moves, the focusing is reset to get the best results. Combined with the Touch AF control, setting and focusing on the subject is incredibly easy and quick.

The touch-control system of the LUMIX GX1 lets users set the focus on the subject by simply touching it on the large, 460,000-dot wide-viewing angle LCD. Users can even release the shutter by touching the screen. Once locked on the subject with a touch, the LUMIX GX1 tracks the subject, even when it moves, using the AF tracking function. With a touch on the screen, users can select the part and the size of the AF area, choosing from 1-area AF, Multi-area AF with 23 AF areas and Pinpoint AF, which allows extremely precise focus setting.

Despite its compact size, the LUMIX GX1 is extremely intuitive to operate, with an optimized layout of control buttons, a mode dial and dedicated function buttons. Users can customize the two external buttons and two menus tabs to settings they most frequently use so they are easily accessible. In addition, a total of four custom setting patterns can be stored to the camera’s model dial – one on ‘C1′ and three on ‘C2.’ Furthermore, the LUMIX GX1 was designed to enhance its ergonomics, with a grip that fits naturally and comfortably in the hand, despite its flat profile and compact design. Plus, the LUMIX GX1 has a more tactile texture and the mode dial is easy to turn and features print that is easy to read and won’t easily wear.

Other features of the new Panasonic LUMIX GX1 compact system camera include:

A new Level Gauge, which lets the camera detect the horizontal/vertical angle of view with its internal level working with the sensor. In addition, photos shot in portrait aspect will be automatically displayed vertically, regardless of which lens is used.

One Push AE adjusts exposure with a single press of the “Fn” (Function) button when it is over/under exposed, which is especially useful when shooting outdoors with open aperture or indoors with fast shutter speed.?

Dust Reduction System helps to eliminate dust or foreign matter getting inside the LUMIX GX1 when lenses are being changed. By placing a supersonic wave filter in front of the Live MOS sensor that vibrates vertically around 50,000 times per second, the filter repels dust and other particles effectively.

Zoom operation can be controlled with touch control when either of Panasonic’s new LUMIX X Power Zoom lenses are attached. And the zoom speed can also be adjusted in two steps for more precise control.

Popular iA and iA Plus modes for beginners looking for automatic shooting in both still and video modes.

Increased energy consumption and an approximately 11%** longer life battery such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery, panasonic VW-VBD1E Battery, panasonic VW-VBD1 Battery, Panasonic CGA-S002 Battery, HITACHI DZ-HS300E Battery, Olympus FE-230 Battery, canon MV930 Battery when compared to the LUMIX DMC-G3, which also uses the same battery pack DMW-BLD10.

The LUMIX G Series is a robust system of bodies and lenses, featuring a total of 14 Micro Four Thirds lenses including the new power zoom X lens – standard zoom lens, telephoto zoom lens, single focal length lens, wide-angle lens, fish-eye lens, macro lens, and even a 3D lens – to fit a variety of shooting scenarios and occasions.

The Micro Four Thirds System products are joining today’s Four Thirds System products to provide customers with even higher levels of performance in a digital interchangeable lens camera. In addition to LUMIX G lenses, the LUMIX DMC-GX1 can use any interchangeable lens that complies with the Four Thirds System standard via an optional mount adapter for the unlimited number of lens properties. The LUMIX GX1 system camera offers a wide variety of options to choose from to match every shooting situation and shooting style, including: external flashes, PL filters, ND filters, MC protectors, remote shutter, zoom level, battery packs, AC adaptor, DC coupler, straps, cases, bags and more. Plus, with the LUMIX GX1′s hot shoe on the top, users can attach the optional tilt-shift Live View Finder (DMW-LVF2), with approximately 1.4x and 1,440,000-dot equivalent, 100% field of view.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GX1 will be available in black and silver bodies in mid-December and in the following kit options: DMC-GX1-X with the LUMIX G X VARIO PZ 14-42mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / POWER O.I.S (H-PS14042) lens will have a suggested retail price (SRP) of $949.99; the DMC-GX1-K with the 14-42 standard zoom for an SRP of $799.99; and the DMC-GX1, body only for an SRP of $699.99.

* The time for focusing on the subject is measured with LUMIX G X VARIO PZ 14-42mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / POWER O.I.S (H-PS14042) to move the lens position to “2m” from the “infinity” position. The zoom is positioned at its widest end. Panasonic measurement method.

Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS Review

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the Canon Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

If the idea of an almost-all-touchscreen camera appeals to you, the Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS ($299 as of May 25, 2011) is one of the best point-and-shoot options in that class. But it's becoming clear that touchscreen-operated cameras are a significantly different beast than traditional cameras with similar specs. Because of its touchscreen, this camera acts more like a phone than a more-traditional camera, and that brings its fair share of pros and cons.

The touch interface is well-implemented--the Auto mode and scene presets operate smoothly. However, the touch interface also has aperture- and shutter-priority modes (but no full manual controls), and adjusting settings in those modes isn't as hitch-free as it is when using analog controls. What's more, we've seen better touch-focus controls and options in competing cameras.

All the fancy touchscreen features also come at the expense of the camera's battery such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery life, which is lacking. But beyond these shortcomings, this is a great little camera in terms of performance. Image and video quality are both strong suits, and the model's F2.0 lens and creative shooting modes make it a standout compact unit. When it comes down to it, it all depends on how much you like touchscreens.

Hardware and Design

The 12-megapixel Canon PowerShot Elph 500 HS is one of a new breed of Canon point-and-shoots announced in early 2011: The "HS" designation refers to the camera's "High Sensitivity System" CMOS sensor, which the company claims enhances low-light shots and adds a few innovative shooting modes.

Despite that rejiggered naming convention, the Elph 500 HS is a lot like one of the better Canon point-and-shoots from the past year--the PowerShot SD4000 IS. Like the SD4000 IS, the Elph 500 HS has a bright F2.0 lens, aperture- and shutter-priority modes, creative in-camera offerings, and good image quality.

The Elph 500 HS builds on that foundation, adding a few significant extras to the SD4000 IS's list of specs: an ultra-wide-angle 24mm lens, a slightly larger optical zoom range (4.4X zoom; 24mm to 105mm), a bigger 3.2-inch LCD, and the aforementioned touchscreen controls for nearly every in-camera function.

Minus the control wheel and buttons on the back of the SD4000 IS, the Elph 500 HS also has a very similar body design, with contoured edges that make the Elph 500 HS a comfortable fit in the hand despite the lack of a raised handgrip, and it is slim but slightly large for a pocket camera, with a body measuring just under an inch deep, 2.2 inches tall, and about 4 inches wide.

Prolong Battery Life With Common Tips

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Canon Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Like any beast that needs feeding, your digital camera is always hungry...for power. It requires a constant supply of charged batteries to give you the photographs you desire. But to many, once the batteries have been put in, they are forgotten about - until they let you down and you are left feeling frustrated. This digital photography for beginners article considers the importance of the battery and provides some handy tips for conserving energy, when necessary.

The most obvious tip is this - always have a spare battery (or set) to hand at all times. There is nothing more annoying than having a wonderful photographic opportunity in front of you (such as a beautiful once in a lifetime sunset) which you can only stand by and watch. And all because your camera's battery is flat. Believe me, you'll feel flat, too. If you are using an external flash unit, make sure you have the appropriate batteries such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery for this to hand, as well.

Depending on how you use your camera, the length of battery life will vary. If you get into trouble, and are unable to quickly charge your battery, or get to a store to obtain new ones, there are a few energy-conserving steps you can take which may prolong your battery power enough for you to get your shot. Or you can use these tips to simply make your batteries last longer throughout their life.

Using your monitor to view pictures is one of the biggest drains on power, and one area of digital photography for beginners that can be a hard habit to break. Therefore, don't review your pictures until you have new batteries in. If you are not viewing the monitor when taking pictures, turn it off, even if you need to leave the camera itself powered up.

Check out you camera's auto turn off function. Most modern digital cameras have a feature that automatically shuts the camera down after a certain period of inactivity. In many cases, this is adjustable, so you may be able to reduce the amount of inactive time before shutdown.

The built in flash unit also consumes much power. If flash recycle time starts to slow down, this is usually a sign of impending doom (or battery failure, to be less dramatic). Limiting flash by ensuring your auto flash option is off, and using available light, will help.

If your camera has Image Stabilisation, some models will conserve battery power when this is turned off. This can vary, though, so check your camera's manual to find out if this applies.

Many cameras offer continuous autofocus as an option. In this case, the focus is being altered constantly whilst the shutter is being depressed. Some battery power may be preserved by switching to regular autofocus, or manual focus, such as on a Digital SLR.

Whilst the subject of batteries may easily be overlooked, you should consider these as vital as any aspect of digital photography for beginners. You only need to be let down by dud batteries once to realise how important they are. In short, keep spare batteries with you at all times, and you will never go far wrong.

Digital Camera Battery Issues

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Sony Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

One simple way to separate one photographer from another is through their amount of experience. I would like to share some of my photography experience with you in this article. This is just my suggestion to you because I have learnt this by experience and of course through the hard way. But in my opinion, that's how people actually learn. Sometimes people refuse to listen to an advice unless that something actually happened to him or her. But you can learn it the easy way or the hard. I just hope that IF you do learnt it the hard way, it won't be a once a lifetime situation..

I hang out with my friends one day and brought my camera along just to take photos with them. Everything was going well until something happened! Take a guess. I ran out of battery! This is a very silly example of me, especially if the sony camera battery such as sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery, sony NP-FM50 battery, sony NP-FM51 battery, sony NP-F10 battery, sony NP-FE1 battery, sony DSC-T7 battery is a lithium ion (If they are normal alkaline batteries then you can just go to a convenient store to buy some). So I spent the rest of the day being unable to shoot any photos. What a disappointment! (It was actually quite clumsy of me because the battery hasn't been charged for about 1 month but the indicator says it's full. Oh well, who am I to blame?).

The point I'm trying to make here is that one has to always plan ahead on what can happen whenever one takes his or her camera outside. You will never know what can happen; therefore for first timers, I suggest you list down a possible list of mishap that may affect your photography session that day. It may be countless things, your battery might get depleted (just like what happen to me!), your memory card might be full, you might need your flashlight for indoor purposes when the lighting is undesirable, and many more..

In a nutshell, you should take note of what can happen with your camera. Do not doubt! Especially, if you are working for someone else, or when you have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Therefore an early plan is always good before a photography session. I've bought two extra batteries now, because Pentax cameras have poor digital camera battery performance..

I hope you listen to this advice so that what happened to me, will not happen to you! If you want to learn more about photography techniques, tips and tricks.

How to Clean Your Camera

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Canon Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

If you're not satisfied with the camera in your cell phone and you prefer to keep something better around, that device needs its own special care, too. First, you'll want to start by cleaning the LCD view screen:

1.As a safety measure, remove your camera's battery such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery. If the battery cannot be removed, turning off the device will suffice.

2.Wipe the screen gently with the dry cloth. Don't press hard on it, but for particularly stubborn dirt you can apply some gentle pressure.

3.If a dry cloth doesn't do the job, you'll need to use a wet one--and that can be tricky. Distilled water is the safest and cheapest liquid for a screen. If that isn't strong enough, mix it half-and-half with white vinegar.

4.Put the liquid into a spray bottle, and spray it onto the microfiber cloth.

5.Wipe the display as described above, and then wait until the screen is completely dry before turning the device back on.

However, in a camera, cleaning the LCD is the secondary cleaning job. Your photos don't really depend on a clean menu screen, but they certainly rely on a clean lens:

1.The first tool you'll need is a blower brush: a rubber bulb with a brush on the end. Use this to remove the bulk of the dust. If that doesn't do the trick, use a photographic microfiber cloth and some lens cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the cloth and apply it that way. You can pick up all of these items, often in a kit, in any photography store.

2.If you have a pocket camera, you'll notice something that keeps you from cleaning the lens--it's enclosed inside the camera. That means you have to turn on the camera to clean the lens.

3.You won't need to turn on your digital SLR to clean its lens, but it has another component that you might want to clean from time to time: the sensor. Because you can remove and change the lens on an SLR, dirt can get inside and affect the light-sensitive chip that records the images (not a problem with fixed-lens pocket cameras). This is a delicate and dangerous job, and you should think carefully about undergoing it (I've never tried it myself). Check out "Clean Your Digital SLR Camera's Image Sensor" for detailed instructions. If you think you're not up to the task, bring your camera to a professional.

4.Cameras can get pretty badly banged up as you carry them around, so investing in a carrying case will help keep it protected. The best cases for pocket cameras aren't much bigger than the camera itself, and have loops to attach to your belt. Serious SLR photographers will want a padded shoulder bag with room for extra lenses as well as the camera. No matter the size of your camera, you'll want a case with a few small pockets for extra batteries and memory cards.

5.If you need to swap out batteries or memory cards, be sure to turn your camera off before opening it up to remove or replace any inside component.

6.After you get home from a vacation or other photo-friendly event, and you transfer your photos from your camera to your computer, remove the camera's batteries. That way, should an aging battery spring a leak, it won't ruin your camera.

How to Choose Your New Canon Digital Camera

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist

In Auto or Programmed modes, Canons can actually be easier to use than most compact cameras, in real terms. Optical, through-the-lens view finding makes easier for Digital Camera Chargers, more natural shot composition, especially in tricky focusing or panning situations.

Most consumer Canons also have a wide range of scene modes, for portraits, night shots and so on, while aperture-priority, shutter-priority and metered manual modes are there if you want them, with controls that are usually more accessible than on compact. The two main types of sensor are CCD and CMOS. Theoretically, CMOS should have the edge for image quality but, in real terms, there's very little difference if any.

What's more important is the physical size of the sensor. Cameras such as the Canon EOS 5D have a full-frame sensor, which is the same size as a frame of 35mm film, so you can use film camera lenses without any crop factor. However, most Canons use a smaller APS-C format sensor, providing a 27-105mm lens. The smaller image circle needed by APS-C sensors mean that specially designed lenses can be smaller and lighter as well.

6 megapixels should be plenty to play with but, with high quality lenses, you can get very good pixel-to-pixel levels of sharpness Canon Digital Camera Battery such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery, sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery. This means that if you choose, for example, a 10 megapixel or 12 megapixel camera, you can creatively crop images quite tightly while still getting very good results. Unlike when choosing a compact camera, when buying a Canon it pays to go for the biggest resolution that you can afford. Historically, in SLR photography, lenses have been more important than the camera bodies you put them on.

However, so much image processing goes on inside a Canon that bodies and lenses are now equally important. Canons are very susceptible to picking up dust on the sensors, so most photographers only like to change lenses when they have to. For this reason, it's often best to go for zoom lenses with fairly large zoom ranges, such as 18-70mm and 70-300mm, although fast, prime lenses are difficult to beat for low light performance and quality. So-called 'travel' or super-zoom lenses are increasing in popularity, offering mighty zoom ranges of around 18-200mm. However, these lenses are usually susceptible to very noticeable distortion at each end of the zoom range.

Some Canon and Nikon lenses also offer excellent image stabilization or vibration reduction systems built in Battery Chargers, while other makes of camera have anti-shake systems built into the camera, which you can use with any lens.

Choosing the Right and Best Digital Camera Battery

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Sony Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

As we know the life of digital camera battery is one of the most crucial factors in photography. Like other portable consumer electronic devices, digital cameras use batteries as their power source. All batteries have one major drawback - they only last for a limited span of time. If you disregard this fact, then you run the serious risk of missing an important shot.

Two kinds of battery are widely available for digital cameras: Ni-CD (Nickel Cadmium) and Ni-MH (Nickel-Metal Hydride). There is a third type of rechargeable battery, Lithium Ion that is gaining rapid popularity. The distinct advantage of a Lithium Ion battery is, it offers better performance than the other two types. But the disadvantage is that they do not come in the standard AA battery size and as such you can not use them with most cameras.

Popular alkaline batteries are relatively inexpensive and widely available, but they drain at a fast pace. If you happen to use all of your camera's features, you can deplete a set of alkaline batteries in about 30 minutes. You should then consider spending a little more up front for a battery charger and few rechargeable batteries such as sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery, sony NP-FM50 battery, sony NP-FM51 battery, sony NP-F10 battery, sony NP-FE1 battery, sony DSC-T7 battery, canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery. Many digital cameras work with the popular, rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. Alkaline batteries were not designed to supply the high power drains demanded by digital cameras and other modern digital equipments. Despite having a large energy capacity, alkaline batteries are not capable of delivering their energy rapidly enough for your digital camera, causing it to shut down.

Generally speaking, the heavy energy consumers in a digital camera are the LCD screen and the motors that move the mechanical components of the camera such as the lenses. The other big energy consumer is the motor. Digital cameras have motors the move the lenses either to change the zoom or to focus. Motors consume relatively a lot of energy when moving the digital camera optical components. The flash is a big energy consumer too. Shooting photos using the flash consumes more energy that shooting photos without flash.

Digital cameras, and in particular their LCD screens, demand large electrical currents from your batteries. If you are using lots of alkaline batteries for your electronic devices you'll probably want to switch to rechargeable NiMH batteries ASAP. Not only will the NiMH batteries power a digital camera (or most other electronic devices) much longer than alkaline batteries will, but they are much less expensive to use.

Many digital camera manufacturers offer proprietary lithium ion battery systems with their cameras. These are indeed sophisticated batteries with very long life-span. Sony's Info-lithium battery system is perhaps the best example of this technology. Apart from offering very long life, this system can give an accurate measurement of the amount of operating time left on a charge. The minus factor of lithium ion battery systems is that these proprietary systems are very expensive.

When it comes to power, the ability to use a variety of battery types can be more important than any single type a camera may use. For instance, lithium-ion rechargeable batteries generally last the longest, but if you are out in some remote places, you have no way to recharge them, and you should probably have a backpack full of disposables. Your best bet is a camera that interchangeably supports rechargeables and long-life disposables.

Limits and Creativity

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Sony Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to get more into photography, hoping eventually to buy a nice digital SLR camera. So I was quite thrilled when a photojournalist friend offered to give me some of her old film equipment to learn on. The camera, a Nikon FM2, is a fully manual model first introduced almost 30 years ago. It only uses a battery to run the light meter, and the battery such as sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery, sony NP-FM50 battery, sony NP-FM51 battery, sony NP-F10 battery, sony NP-FE1 battery, sony DSC-T7 battery, canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery on the one she gave me is burnt out — and I’ve been forbidden to replace it.

Her thinking is this: if I’m serious about learning how a camera works, I need to hone my skills and instincts so I get a feel for how to put together a good image. A more modern camera (like the later-model auto-focus Nikon she also doesn’t use anymore) wouldn’t teach me that; instead, it would teach me how to use the camera’s bells and whistles.

I have another friend who is also a photographer, and I was excited to share with her the news of my new setup. She was more or less unimpressed until I told her what kind of camera it was, then she lit up. “Oh, that’s good — you’ll learn a lot from that!” Then we got to discussing her preference for Nikon cameras, and among other things she said she liked the black-and-white mode in Nikon’s best.

“Really?” I asked. “Wouldn’t it be better to convert to black-and-white in Photoshop, where you have far more control over the process?”

I might have been asking the Pope about his sex life — the response was rather chilly. Photoshop, to her, was a substitute for skill. Learning to make the best use of what you have in your hands, that’s photography for her, not applying the near-limitless potential of an image program.

Both of these photographers were telling me something interesting about not just photography but about… well, about life. They were telling me to stop resisting limits and embrace them as part of the process of creativity. Yes, the Nikon FM2 is a pretty limited camera — that’s what makes it a great learning tool (and, for that matter, it’s what makes it a model that’s remained popular over 3 decades of photographic advance, one that’s still found in many a pro’s toolkit). Yes, in-camera black-and-white is far more limiting than the vast possibilities unleashed by Photoshop — that’s what makes it an art. To embrace those limits and make something beautiful is to accomplish something extraordinary.

I can’t help but think of those legendary million monkeys pounding away at a million typewriters. In all that flow of randomness, eventually a string of characters will emerge that tells the story of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark and his stunning descent into madness and eventually death. But it’s the labor of one man, William Shakespeare (or another man posing as Mr. S), scratching away with his goose-feather quill by the dim light of a beeswax candle, groping for the perfect words in the near-dark, that stuns us — one man working with all the limitations of his life and times, all the limitations of the medium and of his mind. That is what elevates a play like Hamlet to the level of art.

Aside from a lack of resources — who, after all, has a million monkey laying around and that kind of time to wait? — there are good reasons to oppose unboundedness, to reject a lack of limits. Creativity doesn’t stem from limitlessness. Over and over again, creative people not only challenge limits but seek them out — artists choose a limited palette to paint an image with, musicians strip a complicated arrangement down to voice and acoustic guitar, writers cut and cut and cut again to reach a thousand-word length, and my photographer friend willingly embraces the quirks of her camera’s black-and-white mode over the power of Photoshop.

That’s the gift my photojournalist friend gave me: limits. She knew that for under $500 I could pick up a decent used digital SLR setup. But on a digital camera, it would be easy to just learn how to harness the power of the camera — to let it do my focusing, metering, white balancing, and everything else for me. I might learn good composition, but I wouldn’t learn photography.

The education of an artist or craftsperson consists mainly in learning about limits; I would argue that their creative spark comes from embracing those limits. That’s good advice for the rest of us, who spend quite a bit of time bemoaning the limitations forced on us by our circumstances without even trying to understand them. My advice — or rather, my friends’ advice — is this: understand your limits, embrace them, and use them.

Difference Between Gaming Laptops and Plain Laptops

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Canon Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Gaming on a laptop is gaining huge acclaim and that is the justification why you can spot so many superior brands like Dell, Sony, Toshiba, etc drifting into the gaming notebooks scene. Buying a laptop for gaming is not difficult as all you need to do is keep certain things in mind.

What makes a laptop formed for gaming intention unequal from normal laptops is that it comes with a high performance graphics card from ATI or Nvidia. A dedicated graphic card will offer dedicated video memory for executing heavy games. Your games will function very well and you will be capable to enjoy without any display issues. Most normal laptops which are attainable out there in the market operate on integrated graphics cards like Intel GMA. Such integrated graphics cards are good but not perfect enough for playing the latest 3D games.

The video card will help in imaging explosions, landscapes along with actions in a true to life manner. Accordingly, gaming laptops which are equipped with graphics card of 512MB, 1GB and even 2GB will present you marvelous gaming encounter. A few gaming laptops even come with two graphic cards simultaneously. While purchasing a gaming notebook always think of the coming games which will be distributed next year and see if the laptop you are preparing to purchase supports it or not.

Gamers who have great knowledge relating to computer games will easily come to accept that normal laptops are incompetent for playing 3D games. It is only via gaming laptops that come with special components that make it suitable for gaming. Gamers fancy to get laptops that work on dual core processors or quad core processors. The processor is what makes the game load fleetly and very well. Another crucial thing they look for is the RAM. Commonly most laptops are shipped with 2GB RAM but gaming laptops even support 4GB RAM or more. When it comes to display of a gaming laptop, you should examine its resolution as well as size. The greater the screen size and higher the resolution the more excellent will be the gaming encounter.

Nearly all gamers comprehend that they need to scout for things like graphics cards, processor speed, RAM, display screen resolution and its size. Nonetheless, they tend to disregard other essential things such as high resolution webcam, USB slots, microphone port, battery ( such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery, sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery, sony NP-FM50 battery, sony NP-FM51 battery ) life and the high performance speakers. Once you take these things into account you will be capable to pinpoint a gaming laptop which will not only support all the most recent games.

Few Hints to Help While You Buy a Digital Camera

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Canon Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Buying a digital camera is a breeze but buying a ‘good’ digital camera could be tricky, especially when there are thousands of models from different manufacturers around. Here are a few tips that might come handy while searching for a digital camera online.

Photography is an art that anybody, even people who lack the natural gift of clicking pictures, can learn. Who doesn’t love looking at a great picture? Be it at home doing daily chores, walking down the neighborhood street, an outdoor sports event, a trip to an exotic location etc., a well captured image redefines that moment to its viewers who behold it later. Apart from being a hobby for many across the globe – young and old, male and female, photography is a major profession chosen by a lot of people almost everywhere.

The output or result of a snapshot surely depends a lot on the skill of the one behind the camera. However, modern technology has come up with ways to enable anybody regardless of their lack of photography skills to take good pictures. The coming of digital cameras has by far simplified photography. It would not be far-fetched to say that with one of the excellent digital cameras in hand, even kids in the kindergarten can grab great pictures.

Having said that, here is an interesting point. With the wide availability of digital cameras, taking shots has become very easy, but finding a genuinely good digital camera with value for every penny is surprisingly hard today. One reason for this is the fact that there are too many choices available. It becomes hard to narrow down to just one camera when there are hundreds of them with something unique in each. While it is good to get one at discounted price allowing you to save, it is also crucial that you take a look under the hood, which goes without saying, before you pay for it.

While looking at the features and functions of a camera, it is important that you have a clear knowledge of the way you intend to use the camera. In other words, you need to be sure where and how you will be using the camera. This should narrow down the eligible models considerably. For example if you are a frequent traveler, an AA battery such as canon NB-1L battery, canon NB-2L battery, canon BP-511 battery, canon NB-5L battery, canon NB-4L battery, canon NB-5H battery, sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery, sony NP-FM50 battery, sony NP-FM51 battery operated one is handier than the lithium-ion battery operated ones.

Resolution of the camera is the basic and naturally first feature people look into while buying a camera. No doubt a higher megapixels camera always has more chance of capturing better pictures, but that should not be the only factor that determines the camera. It is a good way to to start looking at it first but along with that a good camera needs to incorporate other features too.

An equally important feature is the zoom function. It can make a lot of difference while taking shots as the object of your target doesn’t always pose for the shutter at the same distance. If the object or person is too far away you will have to get closer physically to get a clearer shot. While doing so the target would have been already moved or the moment is already gone, but with more zooming ability, you can do away with the distance in seconds. Therefore, more the zooming ability, better the camera.

In addition, other automatic features like face & smile detection, image sensors, color modes, scene modes and many more that make grabbing images easy and and quick, delivering good outputs should be taken in to consideration. So, while you look for the cheapest digital camera that also grabs great images, know what you want and go to review sites and compare a lot.
