Dell Inspiron 14z and Mini 10

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Dell has unveiled a cool new notebook for what it calls its thin and powerful line of notebook computers. The new notebook is the Inspiron 14z and it can be had with several different options. The machine can be fitted with Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor options. It has a 14-inch HD resolution screen and promises impressive battery life to keep you working for a long time.

The 14z has SRS Premium Sound HD for better audio quality when you are watching movies or listening to your favorite music. Combined with the 1366 x 768 resolution screen the little notebook will make for a good entertainment PC that can work too. The 14z has Intel Wireless Display tech inside and it has an HDMI output so you can shoot video and other content out to a larger screen.

Dell uses the Windows 7 OS for the 14z line and the machine has on-processor graphics to help with battery such as dell TD175 battery, dell Precision M65 battery, dell DF230 battery, dell Latitude D531 battery, dell Latitude D820 battery, dell Latitude D830 battery, dell MM165 battery, dell YD626 battery, dell 312-0393 battery, dell Latitude D800 battery life. The 14z will come in Diamond Black or Fire Red colors. It also has a USB 3.0 port, WiFi and an integrated memory card reader. Other hardware features include up to 8GB of RAM, up to 750GB of storage, and an internal tray-loading DVD drive that will burn CDs and DVDs as well. The notebook will ship later this month at Best Buy in the UK and will hit other locations in Europe and the UK later in the year.

Dell have finally added the Broadcom Crystal HD card option to their Inspiron Mini 10 netbook, as part of the new Performance Plus Package. The upgrade not only adds the HD video decoder chip – which allows the Mini 10 to play 1080p video, something the Atom N450/GMA 3150 pairing can’t, on their own, manage – but a higher resolution 1,366 x 768 10.1-inch display.

There’s also a bigger hard-drive – 250GB versus the standard 160GB – and an update to the OS. The Performance Plus Mini 10 comes with Windows 7 Starter instead of Windows XP Home. Finally you get a 6-cell Li Ion battery rather than the regular 3-cell battery.

Upgrading the basic Mini 10 with the new package leaves you with a $409 netbook capable of high-definition playback. The basic SKU kicks off at $299.

Dell Inspiron 910

The images keep coming and the quality gets better every time; soon you’ll be able to print out your own Dell netbook. A mixture of new photos and higher resolution versions of existing images of the Inspiron 910 have shown up, giving an all-round view of the netbook’s ports and lending further weight to the idea that Dell will imminently announce the 8.9-inch budget ultraportable.

Top of the concerns about the Inspiron 910 with battery like dell Inspiron 1100 battery, dell Inspiron 5100 battery, dell 6T473 battery, dell Inspiron 630m battery, dell Inspiron 640m battery, dell Y9943 battery, dell RC107 battery, dell Latitude D620 battery, dell 312-0386 battery, dell PC764 battery seems to be the high-gloss screen. Glossy coatings on LCDs are a love-it or hate-it thing, and the Dell netbook’s does appear, in the top shot anyway, to be highly reflective.

The expected announcement date is still this Friday, with several sources corroborating that; unfortunately the target $299 price that repeatedly gets mentioned is anything but confirmed. Nonetheless, given Dell’s strength in the marketplace and its high degree of brand-recognition, the Inspiron 910 could become the netbook to beat.

Dell Mini 9 Vodafone 3G review

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Mini laptops and cloud computing go well together, if only because the true thoroughbred netbook uses solid-state storage. Often limited in their storage capacity to keep prices low, if you need access to all more of your digital data you can always reach out to your online data cloud - such is the idea behind the Dell Mini 9.

Visit Business Advisor for the latest products and services that can help you improve your business

But this makes sense only if you're always connected to the internet. We now have 3G broadband in most parts of the UK, so a netbook such as the Dell Mini 9 with an integrated 3G modem makes sense - especially when it's offered for free.

Of course, Vodafone's offer of a ‘free' Dell Mini 9 netbook is predicated on your signing up for a subscription, in this case a lengthy two-year contract, starting at £20 per month.

For this contract you get the Dell Mini 9 and 1GB of combined up/download data per month, a relatively paltry amount, which you can extend at the rate of £15 for each additional gigabyte.

The Dell Mini 9 offered is not available to the same spec from Dell UK, as this Vodafone version features 8GB of solid-state storage and Windows XP Home. The nearest comparative Dell model that includes 16GB SSD and Windows XP costs £299.

Visit Laptop Advisor for the latest laptop news and reviews

The limited storage undermined our attempts to WorldBench test the Dell Mini 9, but MobileMark gave us a battery like dell Inspiron 600m battery, dell Latitude D500 battery, dell Latitude D505 battery, dell Latitude D510 battery, dell Latitude D520 battery, dell Latitude D600 battery, dell Latitude D610 battery, dell 312-0068 battery, dell 6Y270 battery, dell C1295 battery life of 178 minutes. In use we found the keyboard to be the limiting factor for comfortable use, as those keys are just too small for accurate typing. The screen suffers from gloss reflections but is of an apparent high resolution, with fonts especially rendered very sharply.

We tried the Dell Mini 9's broadband connectivity at various locations in central and greater London, and found reasonable data speeds. Peak download speed recorded was 3.3Mbps and upload to 660kbps, figures which do fall well short of the 7.2Mbps claimed maximum.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10v review

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Chasing up the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a cut-price version, the Mini 10v. We assume the added ‘v' in the name denotes value, as this model cuts a few corners in the specifications - all sweetened with a tempting starting price of only £199.

For that pound-under-£200 tag, you get a netbook very much based on the Mini 10, but with a little 8GB solid-state drive in place of a hard disk, an older graphics chipset, and Ubuntu Linux 8.04 operating system. Bluetooth has been stripped out too, and the screen, while still all-too glossy and 10in in size, loses the edge-to-edge glass effect.

We tested a sample provided by the Dixons Stores Group (DSG), who have bottled selling the Linux version and have instead opted to load Windows XP alongside a regular 160GB hard drive for storage. This Dell Inspiron Mini 10v sells for £279 from PC World or Currys, or £249 from fellow DSG brand Dixons.

Where the first Mini 10 uses either a 1.33GHz Z520 or 1.6GHz Z530 Intel Atom, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v takes a first-generation 1.6GHz N270 Atom. But differences between the Z530 and N270 are minimal: they share the same clock speed, 512kB L2 cache and 533MHz front-side bus, although the Z-part claims a 2W rather than 2.5W thermal design power (TDP).

Turning towards the graphics chipset, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v falls back to the more popular Intel GMA 950. Out goes any pretension of playing high-definition video (which frankly is not working well with the first Mini 10's Intel GMA 500 processor anyway), along with a digital HDMI video output.

In its favour, the economy Dell Inspiron Mini 10v model has more in common with the Dell Mini 9. And as we've discovered, this makes the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v a prime candidate for upgrading to Mac OS X, requiring little extra work to get the Dell netbook fully operational on the more capable operating system.

In our lab speed tests, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v fell a few points behind the Mini 10: we measured just 31 points in WorldBench 6, against 35 points for the Mini 10. We did note, however, that the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v failed to run the Nero file copying test; that's in addition to Roxio video conversion and Autodesk rendering tests, which have confounded most Atom-powered netbooks to date.

Battery such as Dell Precision M50 battery, dell Inspiron 700m battery, dell Inspiron 710m battery, dell F5136 battery, dell 312-0306 battery, dell 312-0305 battery, dell D5561 battery, dell G5345 battery, dell Inspiron 500m battery, dell Inspiron 510m battery life of the original Mini 10 was disappointing, scoring just 183 minutes in MobileMark 2007 Productivity. The new Dell Inspiron Mini 10v couldn't even stretch to three hours; up to 161 minutes was the longest it could muster from its little 3-cell battery.

Build quality is comparable to the Mini 10 - a little more creaky and plasticky perhaps but with a good, typable keyboard, and a pivoted trackpad that's slightly wider than those on the majority of netbooks.

Dell UltraSharp U2711 review

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

The new Dell UltraSharp U2711’s stand is not plastic, it has a metal mechanical system so it is an upgrade from earlier such Dell monitors. What stands out is the stand’s large base (in comparison to smaller monitors). The stand offers cable management, and adjustment of the display – height, tilt and swivel are the adjustments possible. Perhaps due to the size of the monitor, Dell has not offered the “pivot” facility with its stand, which otherwise is a staple feature on UltraSharp monitors.

That indeed is a pity, turning the screen around by 90 degrees vertically to function in “Portrait-mode” at a resolution of 1440 pixels wide and 2560 pixels would have been quite a treat. Still, it does support VESA mounting, so you can use a wall-mount to use the Dell UltraSharp U2711 monitor in just the way you want it, whether oriented horizontally or vertically.

There is a memory card reader built into the left side of the Dell UltraSharp U2711, along with two more USB ports to let you easily plug USB devices into the system. A number of brands are moving to offer an LED backlight on their laptop/desktop monitors, but Dell has stuck to the tried and tested CCFL for this 27 inch giant of a monitor. Dell claims a viewing angle of 178 degrees on the U2711, both horizontally and vertically, so you can view the display just fine without colour shifts from almost any angle.

Even when placed beside a CRT monitor, you’d be hard-pressed to find colour-reproduction issues, since it uses one of the best panels currently (an LG H-IPS 10-bit panel, model number LM270WQ1). Colour depth is good, with Dell claiming the Dell UltraSharp U2711 can display 1.07 billion colours (as against the usual 16.7 million colours), output 30-bit colour (compared to the usual 24-bit colour) has 12-bit colour processing (most normal monitors are 6-bit) and a colour gamut of 110 percent (on the CIE1976 standard most monitors achieve just 72 percent). In short, this means you would be able to see every colour as the author intended it to be seen, making it a good choice for photographers, movie buffs and print/web graphics content creators.

Typical power consumption is rated at 113W while active and 2W during standby/sleep, these numbers exclude any additional power drawn by speakers/USB devices attached to the LCD monitor. Compared to the 5-year warranty for high-end monitors earlier, Dell has reduced it now to a 3-year warranty. But even this warranty continues to carry the privileges you’d expect after having paid for such a high-end monitor.

The Dell UltraSharp U2711 LCD monitor claims a dynamic contrast ratio (DCR) of 80,000:1 which is fine for movies and games. However, we disable DCR to measure its true contrast ratio, claimed to be 1000:1 which was then measured by our Chroma meter to be 972:1 which is really good. We measured brightness of 226 cd/m2 and a deep black level of 0.23 cd/m2 which again put this monitor in distinguished company.

For once, we found our calibration equipment behind the curve and this premium monitor which is pre-calibrated by Dell at the factory for the sRGB and Adobe RGB colour spaces, actually performed better before calibration than after it. We run a battery like dell Latitude CPi battery, dell Inspiron 8200 battery, dell Inspiron 8000 battery, dell Inspiron 8100 battery, dell Inspiron 4000 battery, dell Inspiron 4100 battery, dell Inspiron 2500 battery, dell Latitude CPX battery, dell Latitude C600 battery, dell Latitude C610 battery of tests including those from Lavalys Everest, PixPerAn, Lagom, and DisplayMate, measuring them with a Chroma meter. It scored well as expected, for more details see the “Performance” tab of this review. In brief, the colour accuracy, brightness, and contrast were excellent as the numbers above will tell you.

Our subjective tests consisted of browsing and productivity apps, viewing photos, movies and playing games. The colours were vibrant and felt “true”, screen was sharp and the colour consistency was even across the screen (this is better than most normal CCFL-backlit monitors). Importantly for movie watchers, the depth of the black was very good – the black levels noted above are superb numbers.

On a related note, we saw no backlight bleeding which is good. The horizontal and vertical viewing angles were as expected for an IPS-panel monitor, the colours were close to their original from every angle in front of the screen. Thus you can even lie down on the floor and watch a movie just as comfortably with colours faithful to their original, just as they they’d look when you’re seated on a chair.

There were no dead/stuck/coloured pixels on the unit that came to us for review, as confirmed on 5 uni-colour screens (completely dark, white and the 3 primary colours). Input lag usually cripples many displays that use an IPS panel. Though the U2711 is not immune, it still aced this one, with no perceptible mouse lag even in fast-paced FPS games (they remain very playable), or out of sync audio in movies.

Dell officially announces Streak

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Following our report that Dell's new 5in tablet had been demoed, the company has now announced that the 'Streak' will go on sale in a matter of days on the O2 network in Carphone Warehouse stores, and later in June directly from Dell.co.uk.

The Google Android-based device is "designed to provide people the best on-the-go entertainment, social connection, and navigation experience."

Pricing and data plans for the UK will be announced by O2 imminently. Unusually, the UK launch is ahead of the US, as Dell doesn't plan to make Streak available across the pond until later this summer.

In a similar fashion to Apple's iPad, the Streak's screen is larger than current Android smartphones and should make it ideal for using the thousands of Android Market widgets, games and applications, without squinting or compromising portability.

Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity brings easy access for downloading and listening to music, updating social networking status in real-time, and staying connected to friends and family through e-mail, text, IM, and voice calls.

According to Dell, users will find the Streak’s web-browsing capabilities as natural as a laptop. Not going quite as far as Apple's Steve Jobs when he claimed that the iPad would give "the best browsing experience ever", Dell says the Streak's 5in screen is large enough to present Web pages in their natural form, create a comfortable viewing experience, and make turn-by-turn navigation (with Google Maps) simple and safe.

The Streak has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor as smartphones like the HTC Desire and 2GB of RAM. Unlike the iPad, it will have a removable battery such as dell Inspiron E1705 battery,
dell Inspiron 6000 battery(dell 6000 battery),
dell Inspiron 9300 battery,
dell Inspiron 9400 battery,
dell 310-6321 battery,
dell 310-6322 battery,
dell D5318 battery,
dell G5260 battery,
dell G5266 battery and a microSD slot for adding storage. The capacitive multitouch screen has a resolution of 800x480 and there's a 5-megapixel camera on the rear with a VGA front-facing camera. It will support over-the-air updates including platform upgrades, Adobe Flash 10.1 on Android 2.2 later this year.

"The Dell Streak hits the sweet spot between traditional smartphones and larger-screen tablets," said Ron Garriques, president of Dell's Communication Solutions Group. "Its unique size provides people new ways to enjoy, connect, and navigate their lives."

We'll bring you a full review of the Streak, and updated on pricing and data plans, as soon as we can.

Dell launches luxury laptops

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Dell has revealed a new luxury brand of laptops targeted at "style-minded people". The first of the new Adamo laptops will rival Apple's MacBook Air.

The company claimed that the laptop is the "world's thinnest laptop", measuring 0.65in at its thinnest point. The laptop's case is made from a single piece of aluminium, an edge-to-edge glass display and is available in two colours, "Onyx" and "Pearl". Dell has also launched a range of complementary accessories for the laptop, including ladies' handbags.

Dell's style-conscious laptop doesn't come cheap, with prices starting at £1,650 for the Admire model. This has a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB 800MHz DDR3 RAM and a 128GB SSD. There's also the high-end Desire, which will cost £2,249. It has a faster 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and integrated mobile broadband. Dell claims the laptop has more than five hours of battery like dell Vostro 1510 battery, dell Vostro 1310 battery, dell T112C battery, dell Vostro 1310 battery, dell T116C battery, dell Y022C battery, dell Inspiron 1210 battery, dell Inspiron Mini 12 battery, dell 312-0810 battery, dell C647H battery life.

The introduction of the Adamo range means that Dell's previous high-end brand, XPS, will be used to denote the high-end models in Dell's existing range of laptops and desktops.

"Adamo is our luxury brand, while XPS is moving to be a performance modifier on our systems, like the M-series on BMWs," explained Ellen Murphy, press officer at Dell. "For example, we have the Studio laptops and then the Studio XPS, which is the top-end of Studio. XPS is moving away from being a brand in itself to the performance modifier on a brand."

Dell D600 review

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Weighing just under 2.5kg, Dell has still managed to fit some very nearly cutting edge hardware inside the case. And did we mention that it costs less than £400? When you consider that you can get a machine like this for so little, refurbished laptops have never looked so good.

The sample we saw had clearly been used before - it wasn't pristine like the Acer, Advent or Fujitsu-Siemens. The lid had a few scuff marks on it and the trackpoint showed slight signs of wear, but the hinges on the lid felt firm and the keyboard is still one of the best in the business. If the trackpoint doesn't appeal there's always the touchpad instead.

Beautiful screen

Promisingly, the screen was in great shape. Viewing angles were good, and the colours we saw in our test photos and DVD tests were excellent, too. Our only complaint is the low resolution - just 1024 x 768. This is a little low for a laptop these days, particularly when you consider the higher resolution widescreens on offer elsewhere in this group test.

At the heart of the D600 is Intel's Pentium M processor - the 1.4GHz version. This didn't produce a spectacular benchmark result, so you won't be playing 3D games or editing videos, but it will breeze through everyday jobs like surfing the internet.

A brief look at the feature table reveals that the D600 isn't the best-featured machine this month. The 40GB hard disk is a little on the small side compared to most of the other laptops, but unless you're the type to obsessively hoard data, videos and large multimedia files, it will be big enough. If push comes to shove, you can always archive to CD-R using the built-in CD burner.

It's the added extras that push the D600 into award-winning territory, such as built-in wireless and a VGA port. Yes, other systems in the test come with larger hard disks and DVD writers, but they also sport price tags that push the £800 mark - not really a bargain.

Value for money

The D600 isn't the cheapest system on test either, that accolade goes to IBM's ageing ThinkPad A31. It is, however, just £50 more and is only around a year old. The next cheapest PC is the Acer, which is in as good a condition as a brand new PC, but only comes with six months on-site warranty, compared to a year for this system. The Acer is also substantially heavier, making it less attractive for frequent travellers.

Seeing the D600 made us realise exactly how good Dell is at building laptops, although its two hour and 40 minute battery such as Dell BATDW00L Battery, Dell 1X793 Battery, Dell BAT1194 Battery, Dell Precision M20 Battery, dell F5635 battery, dell YF976 battery, dell C5974 battery, dell U4873 battery, Dell Inspiron XPS M170 Battery, Dell Inspiron XPS M1710 Battery life is nothing to get excited about. Our only other misgiving is that our model didn't have Service Pack 2 for Windows XP installed. This is hardly a major complaint, since this important update for Windows XP is a free download, but since it's been available for over a year, you'd think that it would be installed by default.

All these minor reservations are, however, swept aside by the D600's price. We'd never have suspected that you could buy such a good laptop for less than £400 and if you're after a top quality portable PC at a bargain price, snap this one up while stocks last.

Dell Studio 1558 review

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist
of the dell laptop battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Dell's Studio 1558 is a sturdy and attractive laptop with a 15.6in widescreen display. We were very taken by the rubber-textured metallic aubergine finish on the lid. Inside, it is more restrained, with a black bezel around the screen and a silver wrist rest.

Unlike most of the 15.6in laptops with battery like Dell RD859 Battery, Dell PR002 Battery, Dell UD260 Battery, Dell PD942 Battery, Dell Latitude 131L Battery, Dell 8F871 Battery, Dell 2G218 Battery, Dell Winbook N4 Battery, Dell F0590A01 Battery, Dell 7T670 Battery we've seen recently, the Studio 1558 lacks a numeric keypad. This isn't likely to be a big problem for most people and means that there's more space for the keyboard. We found that the standard laptop keyboard was comfortable to use. With no unusual layouts or large gaps between the keys, we didn’t have to adapt our typing style to accommodate it.

The touchpad is sufficiently well positioned to prevent us from brushing it by accident while typing although we occasionally pinched-to-zoom by accident while moving the mouse cursor. The keyboard itself has a backlight, which makes it easy to use under low light levels.

We found that the wrist rest gets rather warm, which can become uncomfortable if you type with your wrists flat against the laptop for an extended period. The base of the laptop also gets warmer than most, particularly on the left-hand side. In general, the Studio 1558 is warmer to touch than most of the Core i5 laptops we've reviewed, although not to the point of being unusable.

Dell has left little room for improvement here. The 2.26GHz Intel Core i5-430M processor and 4GB of RAM (all of which is usable thanks to the 64-bit version of Windows) worked to produce an Overall score of 87 in our benchmark tests, showing that this laptop will cope with anything you throw at it.

Graphics are provided by a 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics processor, which managed a more-or-less playable 21.1fps in CoD4 at 1,280x720. At the 15.6in display's native 1,920x1,080 resolution with AA disabled we got a framerate of 18fps. This is good news for 3D gamers, as most games should be playable if you can live with a few compromises to your graphical quality.

Another advantage of the Studio 1558's HD graphics processor and native 1080p display is that you'll be able to play High Definition video files. The display itself looks stunning - evenly lit with accurate colour even on plain white screens. You can also connect the laptop to a TV via its HDMI port. It only has a standard DVD-RW drive, though, so you won't be able to play Blu-ray discs.

The 1558 has three USB ports and a Firewire port, but no eSATA connection. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it has a dual-band wireless adaptor built into it, with support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11n networking, making it one of the first laptops we've seen that can connect to the latest dual-band routers. It also has a built-in Bluetooth adaptor.

Three 3.5mm stereo ports which can be configured for 5.1 analogue surround sound speakers. The built-in speaker produces reasonably well balanced but somewhat fuzzy sound. The integrated memory card reader supports SDHC, MMC and Memory Stick PRO formats and a 320GB hard disk provides a reasonable amount of storage. We were pleased with the Studio's three hour, 33 minute battery life, too.

However, despite the benefits of Bluetooth, dual-band wireless and a good battery life, the £763 Studio 1558 looks much less tempting when compared to Sony's cheaper Vaio EB1Z0E, which has a similar specification with the addition of a Blu-ray drive. It's the better choice.

Canon intros new EOS 550D consumer DSLR camera

Welcome to a Battery Grip specialist
of the Sony Battery Grip   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Canon has today announced the newest addition to its popular line of consumer DSLRs, the EOS 550D. Its highlights include an 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, 1080p HD video recording with full manual control, as well as Canon's new 63-point iCFL metering system first introduced on the semi-professional EOS 7D.

The EOS 550D's sensor is similar, but not exactly the same as the one in the EOS 7D, despite having the same ISO range from 100 to 6,400, expandable to 12,800. What's more, Canon has improved its auto-ISO system, enabling the user to select a maximum ISO to ensure their images are to their satisfaction.

Full HD video recording was first introduced on the EOS 5D Mark II, but has been improved further on the EOS 550D. It records video with full manual control in 1080p full HD at 30, 25 and 24fps, as well as offering 720p at 60 and 50fps. You'll be able to take control of exposure settings, depth of field and degree of motion blur, as well as independent highlight tone priority control (which doesn't change the still image capture settings) while recording video.

Furthermore, Canon has included a Movie Crop function for those situations where you're too far away from the action. This reduces the resolution to 640x480 but, in doing so, it uses the central 640x480 pixel grid to record video to effectively increase magnification by a factor of seven. There's also a built-in 3.5mm stereo microphone jack, allowing you to connect an external microphone, and an HDMI port that allows you to view images from your camera on an HDTV using the TV's remote.

The 550D's body has gone through a number of changes too - the biggest being the new 3.0in Clear View LCD screen. Canon has changed the ratio from 4:3 to 3:2, while leaving the resolution at 1,024k dots - this makes sense, as it allows the user to view 100 per cent captured images without the letterbox. It also means that the interface has had to undergo a number of changes in Live View/Movie mode and playback mode, with the information now overlaid on top.

The buttons have also been tweaked and are now much bigger and more intuitive following user feedback. There's also an additional button on the new (optional) BG-E8 battery grip such as Nikon D5000 Battery Grip, Sony VG-B50AM Battery Grip, Sony Battery Grip, Canon BG-E5 Battery Grip, Canon Battery Grip, Pentax Battery Grip, Pentax BP-K7 Battery Grip
Pentax K10D Battery Grip, Sony VG-B30AM Battery Grip, Canon BG-E10 Battery Grip, Canon BG-E2 Battery Grip, Canon BG-E8 Battery Grip, Canon BG-E7 Battery Grip that allows users to change both shutter speed and aperture without having to reorient the camera.

Canon's new EOS 550D is compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S lenses, as well as the EX-series Speedlite flash units. It'll be available on 24th February, but UK pricing is yet to be confirmed. Typically though, Canon's pricing is a good deal higher than the street price, so we'll wait to hear from some of the retailers before making any kind of judgement on this camera. We're especially excited about its video capabilities though.

Canon Legria HF M406 review

Welcome to a Battery Grip specialist
of the Canon Battery Grip   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

The M-series is broader than its Panasonic competitor, with a more pronounced hump along the top and a totally flat side beneath the grip like Nikon D5000 Battery Grip, Sony VG-B50AM Battery Grip, Sony Battery Grip, Canon BG-E5 Battery Grip, Canon Battery Grip, Pentax Battery Grip, Pentax BP-K7 Battery Grip
Pentax K10D Battery Grip, Sony VG-B30AM Battery Grip, Canon BG-E10 Battery Grip, Canon BG-E2 Battery Grip, Canon BG-E8 Battery Grip, Canon BG-E7 Battery Grip; we found all this made it more comfortable to hold for long periods. The HDC-SD800's supplied battery protrudes slightly from the rear of the camcorder, and a larger one would stick out far more. The M-series on the other hand has a huge battery recess, which the supplied two hour and 13 minute battery only half fills, so you could add a far larger replacement, lasting nearly seven hours, without it impeding your use of the camcorder.

The lens has a 10x optical zoom range, with a 35mm camera equivalence of 43.6-436mm. It's a decent range, though we prefer the noticeably wider 35-420mm range of the HDC-SD800, which only sacrifices a little at the telephoto end. The M-series use a single 1/3in CMOS with 2.3-megapixels, a very different proposition from its Panasonic competitor from with its 3-chip array of smaller sensors with higher pixel counts. We're yet to see Sony's camcorders for this year.

Test footage showed accurate colours and well-balanced exposures, motion is smoothly captured too. However, it lacked the fine detail and sharp edges that we've become accustomed to on Panasonic's new models. The larger sensor makes it superior in a wide range of conditions to the cheaper Panasonic HDC-SD90, with its single 1/4.1in sensor. There was barely any noise in our low-light test and the frame rate stayed smooth, but that can also be said of the SD800. It seems that the benefits of the sensor in low-light, an advantage born of its relatively low pixel count, then count against it in brighter conditions. Here camcorders can make use of pixels above-and-beyond the two million needed to form a Full HD image, and use them to generate sharper and more detail-packed video. You can see this in the 100% frame grabs below, and in our office plant shots in the gallery.

The M-series camcorders all have optical image stabilisation, unlike the cheaper R-series with its electronic system. In our labs test, using a vibrating table, it did excellently, and there was barely any motion in the final footage, with the same slight shimmer of movement we saw on the HDC-SD800.

At just over £500, the Canon Legria HF M406 is a little cheaper than Panasonic's three-chip HDC-SD800. It has some useful features, such as the accessory shoe, big battery recess and dual-card slots, but unless any of these are essential to you then the SD800 wins out for its superior image quality in good lighting conditions. The M-series is superior in less ideal conditions to the HDC-SD90, but then at over a hundred pounds more, it should be. This leaves the M406 (and its more expensive brethren) stuck between a rock and a hard place; only those who are desperate to add an external mic, but who can't stretch to £680 for Panasonic's HDC-SD900 (review coming soon), should buy an M-series.

Dell XPS L502X review

Welcome to a Ac Adapter specialist
of the Dell Ac Adapter   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Dell's XPS line has always been a showcase for the latest technologies, and this revision of its XPS 15 laptop is a perfect example. Here Dell combines an already excellent chassis with Intel's new Sandy Bridge processors to create a truly cutting-edge laptop.

As well as the latest Intel Core i5-2410M processor running at 2.3GHz, it has two fast USB3 ports and the latest Nvidia graphics card. A Full HD 1,920x1,080 screen, a Blu-ray drive and a built-in TV tuner mean you'll never be short of entertainment, especially with the JBL-branded speaker system to pump up the volume.

This is the same set of speakers as in the last XPS 15, and they are impressively loud and deep. The sound is augmented using Waves MaxxAudio, which can be controlled using the Realtek HD Audio Manager in the tray, and you'll want to reduce the MaxxBass setting to 50% to avoid unwanted rumblings, which is most apparent in bass-heavy dance tracks.

Dell hasn't bundled any TV viewing software, but then Windows 7's built-in Media Center is the best choice anyway. There's a small aerial in the box that comes with a clip so that you can mount it on top of the screen, though you'd be lucky to get a good picture using such an aerial in the UK; there's also an adaptor such as Dell pa-12 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 1420 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 300m AC adapter, Dell Latitude D620 AC adapter, Dell Vostro 1000 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron E1505 AC adapter, Dell 5U092 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 1150 AC adapter, Dell Studio 17 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 5150 AC adapter, Dell Latitude D820 AC adapter, Dell 9T215 AC adapter for a fixed aerial.

Picture quality from the Full HD screen was incredibly good, and if we had any complaints it would be that the colours are bordering on over vibrant. The LED-backlit screen is evenly lit and incredibly bright - at 50% brightness for our battery test, it was still as bright as other laptops at full brightness. It's practically as good as the OLED screens on smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S.

All this is due to its use of RGB LED backlights, rather than the white LEDs that most screens use. White LEDs are actually made up of a blue LED with yellow phosphor to make it appear white, but this leaves huge holes in the red and green parts of the spectrum. RGB LEDs make a purer white and render greens and reds far more accurately.

Performance from the Core i5-2410M was exemplary, scoring 112 overall and 124 in our single-threaded image-editing test. Considering that the benchmark score of 100 was set by a quad-core desktop processor a couple of years back, these results are deeply impressive, and there will be few applications that will slow the L502X down.

Time date batteries in Cameras

Welcome to a Digital Camera Battery specialist
of the Sony Digital Camera Battery   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

On another site - a punter was complaining that the Time/date function had ceased to work

I and others were advising him to - look at manual/contact maker etc.,etc. and getting nowhere fast.

Much later I was dismantling a dead camera - more out of curiosity than anything else and noticed right in the centre of the main board - a tiny button battery like sony NP-F550 battery, sony NP-FR1 battery, sony NP-FM50 battery, sony NP-FM51 battery, sony NP-F10 battery, sony NP-FE1 battery, sony DSC-T7 battery
Panasonic CGA-S101A Battery, Olympus Li-10B Battery, Olympus BLM1 Battery, panasonic NV-GS10 battery, panasonic VHS-C Battery, canon EOS 400D Battery

-This I imagined was the cause of the above complaint- the battery had 'timed out'

Now- As far as I can see- replacing the battery is not for the average user, even if they were aware.

And sending it back to the maker is seems an expensive exercise - to the extent of being near replacement camera cost.

So the user will have to live without time and date, is seemingly the only option.

I personally don't bother with that setting so it is not one I worry about

But it did seem to me that these items costing several hundred pounds have a deliberately built in obsolescence

What you all think

I recently replaced a central heating programmer.

The old one had a replaceable large button cell used to retain timing imformation in the event of a power failure.

The new programmer still employs a battery, but soldered direct to the circuit board and not user replaceable.

The old programmer lasted over 20 years with a few changes of the button cell. I reckon I'll be lucky to get more than 5 years from the new one before the entire programmer needs replacing again. (not quite the case because I will solder a new battery in when the time comes)

The manufacturer has saved pennies in production costs, but to the detriment of the consumer in the long term.

Is this facility dying out. Previous cameras I have owned have had a small battery that remembers all time/date details etc. But of the the four that I now have three do not. If the batteries are removed all data is lost after a short period of time. Only my D200 has a (rechargeable) battery which is not user changeable. However this is kept charged by the main battery. So remove this, the other battery loses its charge, and the data goes.

As we are always advised to remove batteries if we are not going to use something for a while this can prove to be a nuisance.

Toshiba Camileo P100 camcorder

Welcome to a Ac Adapter specialist
of the Toshiba Ac Adapter   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

When I received Toshiba’s Camileo P100, it was “serious like” at first sight. This sporty pocket camcorder has plenty going for it. But it also turned out to be a little unreliable and hard to use.

Out of the box, things got off to a promising start. This sleek model's pistol-grip case fits snugly and securely in my right hand, unlike some candy-bar camcorders which can be easy to drop. I flipped open the LCD panel to reveal a spacious three-inch touch screen. I was pleasantly surprised to learn this model had a 5x optical zoom. Not long ago, most pocket camcorders were limited to 3x digital zoom. On the back panel, I found the Record Pause button, which lets you pause and restart your video recording without generating a slew of video clips. We’re seeing this useful feature show up in more camcorders, but it’s still rare in pocket models.

The Camileo P100 is slightly wider and thicker than most shoot-and-share models, but still measures a very pocket-able 4.4-by-2.4-by-2-inches, and weighs under 6 ounces complete with battery and SD memory card. It’s the same height and width of your iPhone, and almost as light.

So far, so great. Now for the “howevers.”

Great features; some gotchas

Looking at other features, the Camileo P100 offers a mixed bag. For video and still shooting, this model comes with exceptional optics, including auto-focus along with the optical zoom. Other standout features include 8MP JPEG still photos (16MP interpolated), and strong video light for low-light shooting. Indeed, the Camileo P100 turned in some of the best test results of any pocket camcorder we’ve tested, scoring Very Good in all video and still image categories and Good for the audio test. These results rival some of the larger, more expensive models we’ve tested.

When I filmed outside of my home, I was struck by how crisp the video looked from such a small camcorder, at least when I filmed in bright mid-afternoon light. The autumn reds and greens on the nearby maple trees appeared quite vivid—almost too rich. However, the video quality degraded rapidly when the light faded even just a little. Just after sunset, even with plenty of remaining light, trees, houses and other objects that looked very bright an hour before became mere silhouettes, and the auto-focus started adjusting constantly, vainly trying to find the right focal length. Shooting in low light, the Camileo P100’s auto-focus became a drawback. I couldn’t turn it off, and so ended up shooting video that’s frequently moving a little in and out of focus. The P100 comes with a relatively bright front-mounted video light. But like most such lights on small camcorders, it illuminates only a few feet in front of the lens, making it useful only for close-up shots.

The Camileo P100 is one of the first pocket camcorders to support SDXC memory cards. This means you can put up to 64GB in the camcorder, which lets you shoot a whopping 12 hours of full HD video. However, actual on-board memory is almost nil, giving you just a few moments of full HD video capture, and Toshiba does not bundle an SD card. Figure on spending $20 for a 4GB SD Card rated at Class 4, the minimum Class recommended for Full HD video.

With the Camileo P100, Toshiba bucks the annoying trend among pocket camcorder makers to entomb the battery in the case. Instead of forcing you to return the unit to the company to replace worn-out batteries, you can swap in a new pack. But don’t plan on long shooting sessions, unless you’re plugged into a power source. The Camileo P100’s lithium-ion battery lasted only an hour in our run-down tests, and took 7.5 hours to recharge when connected to my computer with the USB cable. I cut the recharge time down to a little under 4 hours using the supplied USB wall power adapter such as Toshiba Satellite X200 Ac Adapter, Toshiba G15 Ac Adapter, Toshiba Equium A60 Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3165U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba Satellite 1600 Ac Adapter, Toshiba Satellite 200 Ac Adapter, Toshiba Satellite A100 Ac Adapter, Toshiba Tecra L2 Ac Adapter, Toshiba Satellite M20 Ac Adapter, Toshiba Satellite M65 Ac Adapter, Toshiba terca 8000 Ac Adapter, Toshiba Satellite 1900 Ac Adapter.

The camcorder’s built-in file transfer utility (Camileo Uploader) and the bundled ArcSoft MediaImpression multimedia file management software work only in Windows, but I had no problem importing videos into iMovie and pictures into iPhoto on a MacBook Pro.

Macworld's buying advice

If you want some of the best full-light video quality available for under $200, along with an exceptional feature set, consider the Camileo P100—but only if you get a solid money-back guarantee so you have a chance to give this camcorder a thorough vetting. If you're looking for very good video quality in a pocket model, and are fine with the candy-bar form factor, consider Kodak’s PlaySport Zx3. It’s less expensive ($150), and ruggedized to boot.

Cooler Master USNA 95 Ultra Slim Notebook Adapter tested

Welcome to a Ac Adapter specialist
of the Fujitsu Ac Adapter   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Today we’ll talk about USNA 95 - Ultra Slim Notebook Adapter and the name itself says it all. It’s a notebook adapter designed to be as slim as possible and even visually appealing while still performing the main task – supplying power. The adapter measures 6.2cm x 1.7cm x 10.4cm (W/H/D) and we’ve put it next to an SSD 2.5" disk for size comparison.

The specs list output rating of 95W (peak power output is at 150W), meaning that USNA 95 can charge pretty much anything – from small netbooks to gaming laptops. To make sure the adapter such as Advent 6311 AC adapter, Fujitsu Amilo L7300 AC adapter, Fujitsu CA01007-0760 AC adapter, Fujitsu FPCAC14 AC adapter, Fujitsu FMV-AC314 AC adapter, Fujitsu Amilo A6660 AC adapter, Fujitsu Amilo A6600 AC adapter, Fujitsu Amilo V8210 AC adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook T4010 AC adapter, Fujitsu Mobile AC adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook V1010 AC adapter, Fujitsu LifeBook N6220 AC adapter is compatible with various notebooks, Cooler Master provides 9 charger tips.

All you need to do before charging is use the appropriate tip and you’re set.

The easiest way to check compatibility is here. Note however that you shouldn’t regard the list as the ultimate truth list because it’s still incomplete and you might not find your device, despite potential compatibility. If your notebook isn’t in the list, you should check whether it supports DC 19V but contacting Cooler Master’s customer support department is probably the wisest way to go. Note however that certain notebooks can be powered via USNA 95 but it does not charge their battery (certain Dell notebooks apparently behave like this).

If you have a notebook with a large and heavy adapter and you carry it around often, then USNA 95 will be a godsend as it weighs in below 300 grams together with cables. Choiix, the company that helps CoolerMaster in designing new and improved peripherals is responsible for USNA 95’s design.

A really neat feature is the capability to simultaneously charge one notebook and one USB device (phone, mp3 player, iPod, PDA, etc.). Powerful 1Amp charges USB devices up to 30% faster than typical PC USB konektor. Furthermore, you can use USNA 95 to charge just the USB device, which can come in pretty handy when your laptop isn’t on or not at immediate reach.

USNA 95 comes with a LED lamp that glows green when it’s connected to AC power or when charging your notebook, and red when you connect a USB device.

In the package you'll find the USNA 95 adapter, a cable clip and power cord, the base that holds 9 tips, the user manual, a DC cable and a storage bag.

The verdict

We didn’t use any fancy special tests with USNA 95. Instead, we turned to the most practical of tests, everyday use. We used the USNA 95 with our Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Sa 3650 notebook, showed it to friends and tried it on their laptops as well. Just like us, everyone thought it to be a pretty cool gadget due to its compact size and compatibility with numerous standards.

Unlike standard adapters, which almost exclusively come in brick shape and are often tough to pack into a smaller backpack, USNA 95 ended up being our faithful and very light companion. Furthermore, being compact and light still doesn’t stop this gadget from offering more than standard notebook adapters – a USB port.

You might be thrown off by USNA 95’s MSRP of €54,54/$79.99, but if you’re often on the road with a backpack or a bag, you won’t be sorry. In fact, perhaps the most helpful scenarios we’ve encountered is when carrying three notebooks without having to carry three individual adapters.

Innergie mCube 90 Power Adapter put to the test

Welcome to a Ac Adapter specialist
of the Dell Ac Adapter   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

At first we though this is just another battery charger that can cope with more than just one laptop plug, and luckily for Innergie, we were wrong.

The Innergie Mcube is an interesting universal adapter that will fit most laptops and we tried at least three different ones that worked just fine. However, it is not just that, it will charge your iPad / tablet or phone at the same time and in addition it is very compact and looks good.

This is not all, as this adapter has an attachable part, about two-thirds the length of a standard business card that can charge your device in car or airplane. We can tell you that this is really the smallest and lightest adapter like Dell pa-12 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 1420 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 300m AC adapter, Dell Latitude D620 AC adapter, Dell Vostro 1000 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron E1505 AC adapter, Dell 5U092 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 1150 AC adapter, Dell Studio 17 AC adapter, Dell Inspiron 5150 AC adapter, Dell Latitude D820 AC adapter, Dell 9T215 AC adapter that will charge your notebook on a plane or in a car, at least the smallest we've seen yet.

In addition to that the adapter has an USB slot and can charge just about anything that can be charged via a standard 5V USB port. The device claims four way built-in protection and we can confirm that during our testing non of electric devices got hurt. The specification claims that mCube 90 can offer over-current protection, over-voltage protection, output overload protection but we don't know the name of last missing protection. We also suspect that this device can protect you against bullies like Nelson from The Simpsons, but in that case you need to use it wisely and wipe your fingertips before you swing.

The mCube 90 itself weights 263 grams (9.23 oz.), measures 128.8 x 70 x 23.6mm (5.07"x2.76"x0.93") and has an output power of 65W continuous power and 90W peak power. The manufacturer claims that it should be enough for most notebooks up to 17-inch screen size. It should work as long as your laptop power requirement lays between 18-21 Volts, 70 Watt continuous power. The 15V to 17V notebooks will work too, there is a switch to chose one or the other. A DC output offers stable 19.5Volt DC/3.3A for notebooks or tablets and 5Volt DC/1A for portable devices via USB power. As you can imagine USB charging is much slower than the wall power adaptor charging but this is something that is common for all USB charging today.

The package itself is impressive. Despite the power charger with detachable air / car unit you get a detachable wall AC cable, Car (DC) input cable, Notebook (DC) output cable, carrying bag, airplane (DC) input cables, user manual and most importantly notebook power charger heads (tips).

Exchangeable notebook tips that should fit most brands on the market are included. Some of the names include Acer, Asus, Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, HP, IBM/ Lenovo, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, so most users will be covered.

We have tried two brands that are not listed here, Alienware and MSI, and we can confirm that they work too. We also tried an Acer notebook that worked like a charm, all you need is to exchange the tip and you can charge just about any notebook you can think of.

When it comes to phones HTC phones as well as iPhone 3GS and 4G work and the list of compatible phones includes Blackberry, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson phones. We also tried Kindle 3, the latest Kindle ebook reader and this worked too, and we believe that many other USB devices will charge too. So, it works as it is supposed to.

Basically any phone that you might have, provided it can be charged by USB will most likely work on this device and all that in parallel with charging your notebook. So, the mCube 90 replaces your standard notebook charger it also replaces your phone charger, something that might get welcome by many frequent travelers. One less thing to carry around is always nice.

During our testing we charged Alienware M11x small gaming machine and Amazon Kindle at the same time. As you can imagine it worked like a charm. We also charged HTC HD2, iPhone 4, Iphone 3GS. LG Optimus 2X and this also worked. We tried MSI’s U200 12 inch notebook, some netbooks notebook and Acer latest 3D 15.4-inch gaming notebook and this worked too.

The charger does charges your battery relatively fast but due its small dimensions it tends to get quite hot in the process. It is nothing to be concerned but in the cold winter nights it will be a good way to get some warmth for your poor cold hands or feet. The only obstacle we found was the latest Alienware MX11 R3 that needs 90W. It did charge it, but at the same time it got super hot. Innergy told us that new revision of the charger that you can buy in the shop today, fixes the issue.

Conclusion

To sum up, this device will be interesting for two kinds of customers, first being frequent travelers that need the notebook and USB power all the time. It fits in any bag, its universal and it can charge your kindle, phone, bluetooth key, notebook, mp3 & iPod, precious iPad and or Android tablet. This is definitely an all-in-one solution that even covers planes and cars.

The second group that could consider the mCube are customers who need to buy a replacement charger for their notebook. This one will do quite well, but it will also offer some additional functionality.

We need to remind you that charging over USB is naturally slower but it will eventually charge your device. One can argue that you can charge your phone, Kindle or iPad via notebook USB, but this is definitely going to be an even slower choice.

Such a versatile design and great functionality comes with a price. We are talking about a relatively saucy $119.99 in the US, €119 in the EU or around the same amount of British pounds (£119) for the device. This is the suggested retail price but Amazon Germany sells one for €87.64 and Scan in UK sells it for £73 which makes it much more attractive.

It is not the cheapest thing around but it’s worth your attention. A simple airplane or car converter usually sells for some $50 to $60, or the equivalent in pounds or euro. It’s a nice device and it your are in the need for a device that can charge most notebooks, phones, PSPs, DS Lite consoles, tablets, bluetooth stuff or anything else that charges via USB. We can warmly recommend it although it won’t come chap but. The design looks great, the device is silent and can quickly charge your device(s) and also double as a foot warmer.

Asus UX21 ultraslim hands-on

Welcome to a Ac Adapter specialist
of the Asus Ac Adapter   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Asus has released a serious competitor to Apple's MacBook Air, which has been the ultraslim laptop to beat in the mobile computing world. The Asus UX21 is the world's first Ultrabook (click here for more information) and has broken many new grounds in terms of design, features and performance. We met up with Asus' product manager at the company's Computex booth to bring you this quick hands-on.

This 11.6-inch model on display has a sleek 3mm to 17mm side profile and weighs just 1.1kg, while a 13.3-inch version will also be available at launch, estimated to be as early as October. The UX21 is also the first laptop in the market to feature higher-speed SATA 3 solid-state drive, which is fully integrated onto the circuit board to keep the machine slimmer. It has a special trackpad coated with a glass surface, too.

The left side of the UX21 offers a proprietary VGA socket (requires adapter such as Asus N45 AC adapter, Asus U36 AC adapter, Asus U56 AC adapter, Asus Eee PC 1016 AC adapter, Asus Eee PC 1215 AC adapter, Asus Pro23 X23 AC adapter, Asus W90 AC adapter, Asus M50 AC adapter, Asus Pro78 AC adapter, Asus A52 AC adapter, Asus A2 AC adapter, Asus N90 AC adapter), USB2.0 port and earphone jack. Not shown, further to the right, is a narrow grille for its side speaker. Sound is also projected from the edges of the keyboard according to the spokesperson.

On the right is a micro-HDMI output, a USB 3.0 port and power jack. There's also a speaker grille on the left not pictured above. Check out the cool brushed metal finishing clearly visible here, too.

The sentence reads "UX21 series ultra slim" and is printed on a perforated strip with a metallic Asus logo above it.

The special "spin pattern" on the cover is inspired by the grooves of vinyl records, while the machine has a unibody chassis pressed from a single piece of aluminum.

Even the metallic bottom is adequately styled with contoured edges and little details including a unique serial number for each machine. The battery is integrated within the chassis and offers around 5-hour battery life even for more power-hungry Core i7 CPUs.

Apple resellers over knockoff power adapters

Apple has filed a lawsuit against three companies it alleges are selling knockoff power adapters for MacBooks and MacBook Pros, according to court filings.

The lawsuit, which was filed in US District Court for the Northern District of California on Thursday, names Brilliant Store, Sunvalleytek International, and Hootoo.com as defendants. Those companies operate Web sites that sell a variety of computer parts and accessories, including power adapters that Apple says infringe upon its patents.

One of the stores operated by Sunvalleytek, usadapter#com, isn't exactly hiding the fact that it sells both "oringinal" (their spelling) MacBook adapters and unlabeled power adapters that work with Apple products. Calls to Sunvalleytek were directed into a voice-mail system, and a request for comment on the lawsuit was not immediately returned.

Sonnet Now Shipping Thunderbolt Adapter

Welcome to a Ac Adapter specialist
of the Acer Ac Adapter   First post by: www.itsbattery.com

Sonnet Technologies today announced that its new Echo(TM) ExpressCard(R)/34 Thunderbolt(TM) Adapter is now shipping and available for purchase. The adapter enables users of computers equipped with a Thunderbolt port, including the latest Apple(R) iMac(R), Mac(R) mini, MacBook Air(R), and MacBook(R) Pro models, to connect seamlessly with compatible ExpressCard/34 cards from Sonnet and other manufacturers. Originally intended for notebook computers, ExpressCard/34 adapters offer users additional connectivity and functionality beyond what is available through their computers' stock configuration.

"With our Echo ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adapter such as Acer Aspire One 521 AC adapter, Acer Aspire One D260 AC adapter, Acer Aspire 5690 AC adapter, Acer Aspire 5920 AC adapter, Acer Extensa 900 AC adapter, Acer Aspire 9520 AC adapter, Acer PA-1650-02 AC adapter, Acer ADP-90CD BB AC adapter, Acer Aspire AS1410 AC adapter, Acer ADP-120ZB BB AC adapter, Acer Aspire 5100 AC adapter, Acer Aspire 5580 AC adapter, users can now extend the capabilities of their Thunderbolt Technology-equipped Macs like never before. With a single Thunderbolt adapter, they can instantly add connectivity to their computers, whether increasing the number of ports, incorporating new interfaces, or adding peripheral devices that otherwise could not connect through a Thunderbolt port," said Robert Farnsworth, CEO of Sonnet Technologies. "By hot-plugging and swapping ExpressCard/34 cards, users have unprecedented flexibility to change interfaces and devices when needed."

The new ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adapter supports most PCI Express(R)-based Sonnet professional ExpressCard/34 adapters and specialty adapters from other manufacturers. Supported cards range from CompactFlash(R) and SDXC(TM) UHS-I card readers to FireWire(R) 800 and eSATA adapters. The new Thunderbolt adapter also supports ExpressCard adapters supplied with specialty devices such as the AJA(R) Io Express. Sonnet expects other manufacturers' ExpressCard/34 products to become compatible as their drivers are updated to be Thunderbolt technology-aware.

Since announcing this product, Sonnet has received many inquiries about this product's compatibility with SxS(TM) memory cards, because they are designed to interface with an ExpressCard/34 slot. Based on testing in Sonnet's lab, it is expected that the Echo ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adapter will be fully compatible with, and transfer data at full speed from SxS memory cards once Sony makes available an updated driver that is Thunderbolt technology-aware.

Developed by Intel and brought to market with technical collaboration from Apple, Thunderbolt technology supports high-performance data services and high-resolution displays through a single compact port. The Echo ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adapter supports PCI Express 1.1 technology with 2.5Gbps throughput in both directions. The Sonnet adapter connects directly to a computer or at the end of a Thunderbolt device chain with a Thunderbolt cable (available at the Apple Store(R)).

The Echo ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adapter (part number ECHO-E34) is compatible with all Apple computers running Mac OS(R) X and equipped with Thunderbolt ports. It is now available through Sonnet's distribution channel at a suggested retail price of $149.95.
